  • Patent number: 11934241
Abstract: A fan device used with respect to a computing device. The fan device includes at least two fans that provide airflow for the computing device and a controller that adjusts the fans' speeds in an attempt to avoid harmonic vibrations of the at least two fans. The fan device may include at least one sensor, and the controller may adjust the fans' speeds based at least on information from the sensor(s) in the attempt to avoid the harmonic vibrations. The attempt to avoid the harmonic vibrations may also attempt to mitigate one or more of turbulence, pressure, over-heating, power consumption, or noise in, by, or around the computing device. Reversal of airflow may also be used. A fan bar that enables isolation of ground return noise may also be used. The controller may use sums of primes calculations, phase analysis, common divisor calculations, and the like. Also, associated methods.

  • Patent number: 10877983
Abstract: A system and method can be provided to facilitate the comparison of different data sets associated with different organizations. A first data set belonging to a first organization and a second data set belonging to a second organization can be provided. Permissions can be set such that users associated with the first organization cannot view the data contained in the second data set and vice versa. The data sets can be compared based on selected data categories to generate a third data set of match results. The comparison can comprise the use of fuzzy logic. Unmatched data can be excluded from the third data set to protect sensitive data of each organization. The third data set can then be shared between the first and second organization.

  • Publication number: 20180357734
Abstract: Scalable computing systems and methods for the management of intellectual property assets and royalty payments. Income can be derived from a number of different sources in association with intellectual property assets. The data from these sources can be conformed into a common format to facilitate the management of intellectual property assets and royalty payments. Intellectual property assets can be organized into deals and can be stored in a database. The deals can also include parameters such as rate tables, rights holders associated with the assets of the deal. With the conformed data, the asset listings in the statements can be matched to the assets in the database. The matching can be done automatically, using fuzzy matching or manually if the automatic or fuzzy matching fails to produce a match. The royalties can then be calculated in parallel for all rights holders of a given asset across all jurisdictions using a dynamic flow network created for particular asset deal relationships.

  • Publication number: 20140129466
Abstract: A method of selecting a candidate for a job including the steps of: receiving at a server at least one candidate profile from at least one candidate; receiving at the server at least one job description for a job from an employer; processing at the server the at least one candidate profile and the at least one job description; determining at the server a most compatible candidate profile or profiles from the candidate profile or profiles and the job description; and transmitting the most compatible candidate profile or profiles to the employer.

  • Publication number: 20080140841
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a computer network, a computer network, and an apparatus for use in the network. According to an aspect of the invention, a method for operating a computer network comprises: from a first device of the network, requesting access to a second device of the network; redirecting the request to a third device of the network; detecting location information associated with the first device by use of the third device; and redirecting the request to the second device.

  • Publication number: 20070123980
Abstract: A lens and cartridge packaging system and method of use which simplify the removal and transfer of an IOL to an IOL insertion device is disclosed. The packaging system enables a user to easily load an IOL into a cartridge without the use of forceps. In addition, the packaging system also allows a user to fold and insert the IOL into a cartridge without damaging the IOL and/or compromising IOL sterility. In addition, the related methods of use minimize and/or eliminate damage to the IOL during unpackaging, folding, transfer and loading procedures.

  • Publication number: 20060200167
Abstract: A cartridge for delivering an intraocular lens into the eye of a subject that comprises a body disposed along a longitudinal axis having a distal end and a proximal end, and a tapered lumen disposed along the longitudinal axis having an aperture at the distal end of the body. The aperture and at least a portion of the tapered lumen each consist of an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portions of the aperture and lumen each have a first width and a cross-section that is generally arcuate. The lower portions of the aperture and lumen each have a cross-section that is generally horizontally disposed and have a second width that is greater than the first width of the aperture and lumen. The cartridge may be loaded with an intraocular lens using a packaging system. The intraocular lens may be placed into the eye of a subject using a corresponding inserter having a pushrod with a saddle disposed at the tip thereof. The intraocular lens is preferably draped over the saddle during insertion.
