  • Patent number: 7317479
Abstract: Automated zoom control and/or automated wide angle capture for digital camera systems and related methods. The camera is configured to have imaging apparatus that selectively couples images from an image scene to an image sensing apparatus that senses the coupled images. A processor implements an automated zoom control function that automatically records a plurality of closely related images having different zoom levels sensed by the image apparatus, and from which a user selects images for storage.

  • Publication number: 20070291338
Abstract: Photo editing menu systems for digital cameras are disclosed. In an exemplary implementation, a method for applying creative effects to digital images with minimal user effort may comprise displaying an image editing menu as a layer over a digital image displayed on a camera. The method may also comprise receiving user input identifying at least one selection from the image editing menu. The method may also comprise applying at least one of the creative effects to the digital image displayed on the camera based on the at least one selection from the image editing menu.

  • Patent number: 7194701
Abstract: A video thumbnail for use as an icon of a digital video file and method of generating same. The video thumbnail is preferably a relatively short, low resolution, animated video thumbnail. The video thumbnail is extracted from a preferred sequence of the video file and embedded as a header of the file. The video thumbnail preferably plays automatically, and acts as a pointer to the file and the preferred point within it.
