The inkjet device may be configured to operate in a plurality of modes, the plurality of modes comprising a first mode, wherein the inkjet device is in an off state; a second mode, wherein the inkjet device is in a standby state; and a third mode, wherein the inkjet device is in an operative state. Depending on the state of the inkjet device, the BIAS voltage applied to the piezo-electric element is selected.
