In an example method, electronic run ticket data is received from a client device, the electronic run ticket data representing a transaction for fluid. The electronic run ticket data is stored in an exchange data store. The electronic run ticket data is transformed to create additional data to be included in the electronic run ticket data, using a processor. Access to the electronic run ticket data by participants to the transaction is managed, and the electronic run ticket data, including the additional data, is reported to the participants.

Scannable data comprising data indicative of the fluid transfer event and the fluid flow data is generated. The scannable data may include a scannable code. The scannable data may be provided for display and scanned using a portable scanning device. The scannable data, including the scannable code, may be transferred as fluid transaction data to a remote device using a wireless communication protocol for storage and/or analysis by the remote device.

The electronic run ticket is marked as complete and at least a portion of the electronic run ticket is locked from editing to create an original document which exists as a fixed and accurate record of the fluid transaction.

A barcode associated with an oil tank may be scanned to identify the oil tank. Fields of the electronic run ticket may be populated based on the identification of the oil tank. Fields of the electronic run ticket may also be populated based on the user credentials.
