Abstract: The invention is a package including a bundle of shirred casing sticks disposed and held together by a container which completely encloses the bundle. The container is formed insitu about the bundle from a heat shrink film which stiffens on heat shrinking to provide a self-supporting container conforming in shape generally to the bundle shape. During heat shrinking, portions of the film are insulated to prevent welding of these portions so they provide flaps which open to permit removal or replacement of sticks.

Abstract: A packaged food casing article includes a dispensing carton, a roll of casing rotatably supported within the carton, and a strip of splice tape releasably attached to a carton closure flap. The tape as oriented on the flap extends transverse to the casing dispensing direction and is attachable to an end of the casing when effecting a splice to the casing length being dispensed from the carton. The flap maintains the splice tape in a proper orientation during splicing and provides a work surface against which the casing is pressed for effecting the splice.

Abstract: A carton suitable for dispensing flat, flexible bags and the like, having a top cover comprising a top panel, opposing side walls, and an end wall formed by at least one inwardly folded end panel extending from one of the opposing side walls, the end panel being slightly shorter in height than the opposing side walls so that the end panel forms an elongated bag dispensing slot in the end wall along an edge of the top panel; and an elongated flap extending from the edge of the top panel and being folded inwardly to overlap the end panel, the flap being removably secured to the end panel, thereby adding strength to the end wall while at the same time covering the bag dispensing slot.
