  • Patent number: 6727788
Abstract: An apparatus for operating a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker includes a housing, a cradle mounted in the housing and coupled to a handle and to a movable contact. The apparatus comprises a latch frame mounted in the circuit breaker housing. A latch roller is mounted on the cradle. A latch member is configured to selectively engage the latch roller and the latch member is rotatably coupled to the latch frame. A latch shaft assembly is rotatably mounted in the latch frame and selectively engaged by the latch member. Upon rotation of the latch shaft assembly, the latch shaft assembly will disengage from the latch member and cause the movable contact to move.

  • Patent number: 6617533
Abstract: An interlock for two circuit breakers, with the circuit breakers configured in the same electrical circuit and with each circuit breaker having a cross bar and contact assembly. The interlock comprises a pivot pin mounted a spaced distance from the two circuit breakers. An interlock yoke having two ends, with a notch proximate each end of the yoke and the yoke is coupled to the pivot pin. A first operator rod having a first end is configured to engage the cross bar and contact assembly of one circuit breaker and has a second end configured to engage the notch of the yoke. A second operator rod having a first end is configured to engage the cross bar and contact assembly of the other circuit breaker and has a second end configured to engage the notch of the yoke. When one operator rod is moved by the cross bar and contact assembly of one circuit breaker, that operator rod pivots the yoke, causing the other operator rod to block the operation of the other circuit breaker.

  • Patent number: 6222143
Abstract: a A positive OFF toggle mechanism 402 is disclosed for a circuit breaker having “ON”, “OFF,” and “TRIPPED” conditions and corresponding handle positions. The circuit breaker 10 includes a pair of contacts 44, one of which is coupled to an operating mechanism 40 having a pivoting member 13. The positive OFF toggle mechanism 402 includes a lower toggle member 404 having a first end 412 operatively coupled to the contact 44 coupled to the operating mechanism 40 and a second end 408 coupled to a toggle pivot pin 416a; an upper toggle member 410 having a first end 412 coupled to the toggle pivot pin 416a and a second end 408 in operative contact with a toggle pin mounted on the operating mechanism 40.

  • Patent number: 5076118
Abstract: A tool (10) for insertion or removal of generally elongated fuses (32), which has a body portion (12) for capture of the fuse (32) about its circumference, including a base (14), a foot (16), a side member (18) and a top (20). The tool (10) may have axle stubs (17) that are rotatively engageable in apertures (54) defined by fuse holder pan well (52). The tool (10) also has a tab (b 22) attached to the body (12) for rocking the fuse (32) about a fulcrum axis defined by contact of the foot (16) with the floor (36) of a fuse holder pan or by rotation of axle stubs (17) within apertures (54) defined by the sidewalls (56). The tool (10) may have a positioning rib (24) attached to the body (12) for limiting axial movement of the fuse (32) relative to the tool (10). The top ( 20) may serve as a cover for a fuse holder pan (34).

  • Patent number: 5052952
Abstract: A fuse ejector (10) for ejecting fuses from engagement with fuse clips (46) including a rotatable axle (12) with at least one female end portion (16) that is rotatively engageable with a male boss (52) or a male end portion (14) of another ejector if the ejectors are oriented in tandem, such as in a ganged fuse clip chamber assembly. The ejector (10) has a handle (32) and a cam portion (36) for contact within translation of a fuse upon rotation of the axle (12), so that the fuse is ejectable upon handle actuation. The female end portion (16) may include an angular ring (18) having a cut-out portion (22) for lateral engagement with a male boss (52) or the male end portion (14) of another ejector (10). Methods for assembly of a fuse ejection system.
