Abstract: A tote for collecting and transporting fragile items comprising a rectangular base, a handle fixed to the base, and a compartmentalized rectangular tray removably contained on the base, a perimeter of the base arranged to allow the tray to rest on a bottom of the base and to restrain the tray from sliding off the bottom, the handle being rigidly attached to the base and having an inverted U-shape that is sufficiently high and wide to allow several identical tray supporting items in individual compartments to be stacked on a bottom one of said trays.

Abstract: A system, particularly suited for after market applications, for enclosing an overhead guard with window and prehung door assemblies. The window and door assemblies are arranged with portions that overlie outer surfaces of the guard and portions engageable with inner surfaces of the guard to retain the respective assemblies in place on the guard. The retaining structure of each of the assemblies extends through original vision or ingress/egress openings in the guard so that installation is simplified and structural alteration of the guard is avoided.

Abstract: A set of panel assemblies for enclosing the overhead guard of a vehicle such as a skid steer comprising a windshield/door assembly and side window assemblies. The windshield/door assembly includes a door jamb that is clamped over the front corner posts of the overhead guard and a windshield/door unit hinged on the jamb. The windshield/door unit seals against a generally planar front face of the jamb. The side window assemblies comprise transparent rigid plastic sheets adapted to be attached to the side grille of the overhead guard in a simplified manner and without occupying excessive space in the clearance area between the overhead guard and operating elements such as the lift arms of a bucket.

Abstract: An overhead guard for a vehicle, in the form of a cab for a lift truck, that affords both protection and a high degree of overhead visibility with a relatively open grille work of steel bar and an impact-resistant glazing sheet. The glazing sheet is sandwiched between a rigid framework and a sheet metal panel having a large cutout for the overhead view. Gusset plates reinforce the corners of the framework and provide convenient mounting locations for an air circulating fan. Threshold adaptor brackets are mounted in step pockets of the vehicle chassis to simplify the door structure while permitting the cab to be effectively sealed from the environment when the doors are closed.

Abstract: Cab panel structures and methods for their assembly on an overhead guard of a land vehicle. A metal roof panel can be used alone or with a metal frame windshield panel for a partial enclosure. The metal roof and windshield panels can be used with complimentary fabric panels that afford a full enclosure or with complimentary steel panels that afford a full enclosure of high durability. The metal panels are attached to the overhead guard posts in a unique clamp-on method that avoids the need for direct fastening of the guard and, accordingly, allows rapid installation.

Abstract: A construction for a cab face for a vehicle or the like in which a plurality of separate plates are assembled in a pattern that provides a rectangular window aperture and which allows substantially any cab face width to be formed from proper selection of plate sizes which vary incrementally.

Abstract: A fabric cab for a work vehicle affording excellent visibility through extensive window areas, and high functional utilization of materials without significant material waste in its fabrication. Faces of the cab are fabricated by joining separate fabric strips together and to window elements at the corners and margins of the cab. Side faces of the cab include flexible roll up doors removably attached to the cab for repair or replacement. Side sections of the cab are fitted with fasteners that allow the cab to be knocked down for storage and shipment by folding it on regular corners.

Abstract: A windshield wiper drive system for an industrial lift truck cab which affords a high degree of forward visibility, ease of construction and assembly, and simple operation. The system includes a centrally mounted pivot shaft coupled by a connecting link to a laterally offset gear motor drive. The gear motor drive is a right-angle unit that is mounted in a manner which substantially eliminates obstruction of the operator's view as bounded by the front of the cab structure.

Abstract: A fully enclosed protective cab for an industrial lift truck affording a high degree of visibility and including a rear face with a retractable panel section adapted to permit engine cover movement for access to the truck engine. The retractable rear panel section is arranged to slide in its plane between extended and retracted operational positions, thereby taking up minimum space, and is transparent to afford a clear rearward view in both of its operational positions.

Abstract: A user installed bookmark formed as an assembly of a flat anchor and an elongate flexible marker. The anchor is provided with a pressure sensitive adhesive which serves at an integral tail portion to retain the marker and, when exposed by removing a backing layer, serves to fix the assembly to a book. The release backing includes a convenient pull tab donated from a tail portion of an anchor when these elements are blanked from sheet stock.

Abstract: A cab for an electric lift truck having a displaceable steering wheel for battery access. A front panel of the cab is hinged in a manner which allows it to temporarily swing out of the path of the steering wheel while avoiding interference with the lift mast. A windshield wiper unit carried on a fixed area of the cab is automatically deflected by movement of the front panel. Various doors and panels of the cab are lap mounted over vertical corner post elements to permit limited adjustment of their relative spacing for proper fitting with a production lift truck.

Abstract: A safety boot assembly for use with a press brake operated C-frame punch or the like tool which fits between the ram of the press and the upper arm of the C-frame to prevent a human limb from being inadvertently placed in any gap between the ram and C-frame. The disclosed assembly includes a corrugated boot and end fittings to attach its ends to the ram and C-frame.

Abstract: A method and device for eradicating vine-type vegetation by which a substantially closed container of liquid herbicide receives a stem of an unwanted plant and retains it immersed in the liquid, causing the plant to ultimately absorb a lethal dose of such herbicide.

Abstract: A rear engine lift truck is provided with an operator cab having a back wall portion fixed to a hinged engine hood for concurrent movement therewith apart from the remaining cab structure. The hood is hinge-mounted at its forward end within the cab interior wherein upward movement of the hood provides unobstructed rear access to the engine compartment, the movable back wall portion swinging into the cab interior.
