Abstract: A trim panel connecting link for one of the vehicle pillars, such as an A-pillar includes electrical conductors with a plug or socket at each opposite end thereof which connect with a mating socket or plug in the headliner and instrument panel for interconnecting the vehicle electrical system with the headliner electrical components. In a preferred embodiment an A-pillar display is mounted to the trim panel. In another embodiment the display is coupled to the conductors of the connecting link.

Abstract: The viewing angle and illumination intensity of windows and indicator panels are improved by printing the legends associated with indicator windows on a clear plastic sheet. An opaque ink having a color that contrasts with the color of the printed matter is coated on the backside of the panel with suitable masking so that transparent windows are defined in the panel. A clear tinted ink is coated on the background color coating to impart color to the windows. The next coat is a transparent ink, which contains a white reflective and light-dispersing pigment that makes it translucent. Finally, a coat of a transparent ink is applied and it is cured to produce a textured effect which contributes to the light scattering and diffusing process performed by the white pigment such that when a window is illuminated from the backside, it can be visualized along an optical axis which is almost parallel with the plane of the panel.

Abstract: In a multi-processor virtual memory system 10 a Reference and Change Table (RCT) 36 is located upon a Memory Control Unit (MCU) 25. The RCT 36 is responsive to accesses to any of the Memory Modules (MMs) 24-26 and generates and maintains status bits indicative of the reference and change activity of all of page frames of the system memory that are accessible by any of the CPUs 12A-12n. In that each of the CPUs 12A-12n has access to the page frames of the system memory each of the CPUs 12A-12n is further enabled, via privileged instructions, to test (read) and reset (clear) over a system bus 16 the memory page frame status bits that are generated and stored by the RCT 36. As such, the RCT provides to multiple data processors a centralized and readily accessible store of status information relating to page frames of the system memory.

Abstract: A distributed reference and change table 36 for a virtual memory system 10 has a number of storage locations at least equal to the maximum number of data blocks of an associated read/write physical memory. A memory module 24 has a plurality of data words organized into n number of data blocks. The memory module includes an integral reference and change table having at least n storage locations each having at least two bits, one bit indicating the occurrence of an access (reference) to a corresponding data block and the other bit indicating if the access was a write (or change) type of access. A plurality of such memory modules are physically and electrically coupled to a common memory carrier module, each of the plurality of memory modules having an integral reference and change table.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling large articles, such as heavy rolls of paper and the like, is disclosed. At least three composite spacer units, each constructed from a plate and a cylindrical spacer member secured thereto, are attached to a shield fastened on the bottom of each article so as to provide a space beneath each article for receiving lifting members inserted under the article.
