  • Patent number: 5514943
Abstract: A motor control system for a multi-speed electric motor electrically excited by a power source having at least two terminals. The motor controller system includes a switching device electrically connected to the terminals of the power source for alternating current flow from the power source, a first speed circuit, and a second speed circuit. The first speed circuit includes a first speed primary winding electrically connected to the switching device, a first speed secondary winding electrically connected to the first speed primary winding, a start capacitor electrically connected to the first speed secondary winding, and start relay electrically connected to the start capacitor. The second speed circuit includes a second speed primary winding which is connected to the switching device.

  • Patent number: 5498097
Abstract: A mounting clamp for mounting a power supply to a thermal freight container wherein a stop is employed for insertion into the ISO castings of the thermal freight container and for clamping the power supply to the thermal freight container. A shaft with the stop attached on one end is supported by a base such that the shaft may rotate around and move along its longitudinal axis. A handle is attached to the shaft such that rotation of the handle causes the shaft to rotate which in turn causes the stop to rotate. A locking device is provided to engage the handle for locking the rotational movement of the handle in either a clamp or unclamp position. A fastening device cooperates with the shaft such that it controls the shaft's movement along its longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 4758918
Abstract: An advanced latching circuit (14) is used for latching a compressor (16) to a power source (18). The circuit includes the solenoid (32) of a compressor relay. A first set of contacts (28) of the compressor relay, a capacitor (34) and a resistor (36) are connected in parallel with each other and in series with the solenoid (32). Power supplied to the latching circuit (14) with the capacitor discharged energizes the solenoid (32) and latches the circuit. The opening of the latching circuit (14) by a safety switch (38, 40) deenergizes the solenoid to disconnect the compressor from its power source and charges the capacitor (34). The solenoid cannot be reenergized to reactivate the compressor until service personnel remedy the heat pump malfunction and interrupt power to the latching circuit (14).

  • Patent number: 4587403
Abstract: A sub-base for use in conjunction with thermostats for controlling air conditioned spaces includes a false heat device and a radio frequency receiver and control circuit for turning on and off the false heat device to provide temperature setback control for the thermostat. The sub-base may be mounted between the thermostat and the existing wall mounting structure and is adapted to be connected to the thermostat control conductors for a source of power for the sub-base and to receive radio frequency signals transmitted over the thermostat conductors.

  • Patent number: 4489568
Abstract: A ground water system for a domestic storage tank and reversible heat pump is arranged to prevent the build up of excessive pressure in the storage tank when the flow of water through the heat pump is restricted to a defined degree by the operation of valve means controlling the water flow as required by the heat pump.
