  • Patent number: 4902188
Abstract: A vehicle for transporting shopping trolley or carts. The vehicle has a tray for the loading of the shopping trolleys, and adapted for movement from a transportation position to a lower loading position in which trolleys can be easily loaded thereon. The tray maintains a substantially constant horizontal orientation through this movement. A tailgate or rear ramp is positioned at the rear of the tray and is movable between a ground engaging position and a raised position generally blocking the rear of the tray. A mechanical leverage mechanism lowers the ramp as the tray is being raised and raises the ramp as the tray is being raised between their respective upper and lower positions.

  • Patent number: 4667918
Abstract: A rotatable mailbox pedestal is disclosed having a locking mechanism configured such that after being unlocked to permit rotation, it can be relocked in a forward orientation automatically, i.e. without further manipulation of the lock. The locking mechanism comprises a bail member pivotally mounted to the rotatable portion of the pedestal and having a notch positioned such that when rotation of the pedestal brings the notch in alignment with the bolt of the lock, the bail member pivots downward under the force of gravity to engage the notch with the lock bolt. Means are provided for conveniently and securely mounting a lock of the type commonly used in postal applications so that a postal worker may unlock the pedestal for rotation, withdraw the key for use on a mailbox mounted on the pedestal, and relock the pedestal in a forward position without further use of the key.

  • Patent number: 4094572
Abstract: A multi-wire electrical interconnecting circuit member having a multi-wire matrix of insulated wires mechanically terminated on the multi-wire electrical interconnecting member. Wire retaining members positioned on the multi-wire electrical interconnecting member terminate the wires and establish a gas-tight electrical connection therewith. Each of the wire retaining members includes means for engaging a wire with sufficient force to penetrate any insulation thereon and establish and maintain a gas-tight electrical connection with the conductive core of the wire.

  • Patent number: 3950662
Abstract: A self-commutating motor including main magnets to provide a magnetic field and a rotatable printed circuit armature positioned therebetween. The armature rotates in a self-commutating fashion with a pair of centrally mounted brushes. The printed circuit armature includes two insulating layers having printed circuit conductive elements thereon, and a low reluctance laminated core to which the layers are bonded. The conductive elements may be skewed to a maximum of about 3.degree. and the conductive elements of each layer are electrically interconnected so that the forces on the conductive elements, resulting from interaction of the current flowing in the conductors with the magnetic field, cooperate to apply a torque to the armature of the motor.
