  • Patent number: 7721944
Abstract: A whip comprising a shaft having a first and second end, the shaft being arranged to provide a handle at the first end and a flapper located at the second end. The shaft comprises at least one planar fin located at the second end of the shaft, the fin being at least partially sheathed with the flapper.

  • Publication number: 20070227112
Abstract: A walk reel mower includes a pair of inclined rigid links for mounting the reel cutting unit to the reel mower frame for rolling about a longitudinal axis, and a pair of vertical support arms for mounting the reel cutting unit to the reel mower frame for pitching about a transverse axis. An integrated gearbox houses both the traction and reel drives, including the differential that is part of the traction drive, as well as a parking brake. A flexible drive shaft powers the cutting reel from the gearbox and is made from materials that do not require petroleum based lubricants to avoid the possibility of damage to the turf or grass. A single control handle located on the handle of the mower actuates both the reel and traction drives. The reel cutting unit includes a back plate which has a portion formed as a hollow beam for strength.

  • Publication number: 20060230541
Abstract: A recyling process for liquid treatment of denim scrap comprising placing denim scrap on a support surface (50) to form a thickness of flat, layered denim scrap (7). To the top surface is applied a compression plat (56) to form the thickness of denim scrap into a compact cake (54). Then treatment liquid is passed through the interior of the compact cake (54) in a direction parallel to the surfaces of the scrap, the liquid passing between opposed surfaces of the denim pieces. The treatment liquid can be a solvent for oxidized indigo dye; an aqueous solution containing a desizing agent; an aquueous solution containing a reducing agent for indigo dye; a solution containing desizing and reducing agent; an aqueous solution containing a reducing agent for indigo dye; or a sequences of these liquids.

  • Patent number: 5868067
Abstract: A baler for compacting fibrous materials or other compactable materials having a platen operable by two compression devices. One compression device is at least one hydraulic cylinder with a piston rod attached to the platen which performs compaction. The other compression device is at least one hydraulic cylinder with a piston rod which is attached to the platen and performs tramping. The apparatus provides rapid tramping before compaction by the selective activation of only the second compression device. Both cylinders function through a common hydraulic fluid reservoir and solenoid valve.
