  • Patent number: 9341600
Abstract: A deflection gauge configured for use with a floor test apparatus is provided. The gauge includes a housing, a string potentiometer mounted on the housing, and a channel extending from the housing and pivotably supporting a pivot beam. The pivot beam has a contact button at one end and an attachment point on an opposite end configured for receiving a string of the potentiometer. Deflection of the contact button due to floor sample weight stresses causes the attachment point to pivot and cause linear extension of the string, which is measured by the potentiometer.

Date of Patent: May 17, 2016
    Assignee: UNITED STATES GYPSUM COMPANY
Inventors: Robert W. Cavaliero, Robert Peddle
  • Patent number: 9170237
Abstract: A floor test apparatus is provided, including a base having an upper surface and defining an output shaft opening, a frame disposed in the base, having a main vertically projecting channel in communication with a supplemental, generally horizontally projecting channel having an access opening in a sidewall of the base. A main drive shaft passes through the supplemental channel and being coupled to a gearbox disposed in the main channel. A secondary shaft projects generally from the gearbox and is connected for common rotation with the main drive shaft.

  • Publication number: 20060206287
Abstract: The invention provides a tool and method for monitoring and evaluating any industrial or commercial process, activity or system or the personnel carrying out that process, activity or system against a set of Performance Drivers for the process, activity or system; and for assessing the efficiency, capability or sustainability of that process, activity or system as a result of the monitoring. By utilising both a weighting between each of the different statements and questions used to derive performance and compliance data from persons polled for input and a numerical maturity value given to the mean responses from different groups of those persons polled, the analysis of the data against the associated Performance Drivers permits the generation of assessment reports that assess compliance against individual statements and indicate the potential cause of any failure of the process, activity or system to attain its targets.
