Abstract: A system and method for encoding data into a digital file includes identifying an input digital file, an output digital file, and data to be encoded into the output digital file. The data that is to be encoded is masked based on a masking algorithm and encoded into the output digital file at bit locations identified by an encoding algorithm, starting from pre-identified start location. The start location, the masking algorithm, and encoding algorithm are encoded into a metadata file, and the metadata file is also encoded into the output digital file. The input and output digital files are sent to a receiving device that is configured to extract the data from the output digital file, and apply the extracted data to perform an action. The action may be authenticating or authorizing a user based on the extracted data, or completing a transaction.

Abstract: A trading appliance for an electronic trading system comprises a keypad into which is integrated a computer which communicates between the keypad and the trading system. The keypad has keys for entry of trade related data into the trading system. A retractable keyboard has keys for entry of non-trade related data into the trading system and may be retracted to a position within the keypad housing. A mouse is provided on the keypad. A display monitor may be connected the keypad for display of trading data received from the keypad and the trading system. A portion of the keypad, and an associated circuit boards may be detached and replaced by a keypad portion appropriate for trading a different instrument or on a different market.

Wireless communication system (100) includes a mobile switching center (202), a base station controller (204), and a plurality of base transceiver stations (240-242). The method includes wireless communication system (100) receiving a mobile communication signal (115) from a mobile station (220), and based on the mobile communication signal (115), invoking delivery of an information element (230) to base station controller (204). The method further includes, based on information element (230), selectively forwarding by base station controller (204) a status message to mobile switching center (202). In addition, the method includes acknowledging, by base station controller (204), successful receipt of information element (230).

Abstract: Presented is a tool adapted for use in rupturing the surface of smooth concrete so as to provide a roughened surface. This process is commonly known as "scarifying" concrete. The tool comprises a bit adapted to be mounted in a conventional roto-hammer or other type actuating mechanism that provides a reciprocating and/or rotating motion, the bit being provided with a multiplicity of carbide tips which are driven repeatedly into the concrete surface to effect scarifying thereof.
