  • Patent number: 10071750
Abstract: A protection system of a railway vehicle traction system includes an electric motor and an electrical power supply circuit. The system further includes: a mechanical coupler between first and second components of a transmission line, the first component being connected to an output shaft of the electric motor and the second component being connected to an input shaft of an axle of the railway vehicle, the coupler being able to be in an engaged or disengaged state; and a controller able to apply a disengagement signal to the coupling signal, to switch from the engaged state to the disengaged state if a failure of the power supply circuit and/or the electric motor is detected.

Date of Patent: September 11, 2018
    Assignee: Alstom Transport Technologies
    Inventor: Robert Periot
  • Patent number: 9987930
Abstract: A railroad network (10) having a track (12), a network energy supply (14) and a plurality of trains (16) that are connectable to the network energy supply (14) via means (20) for connecting the train (16) to the network energy supply (14) and each have an internal energy storage system (24) for receiving and storing energy originating from said train (16) or from trains (16) of the railroad network (10) and for supplying energy to said train (16) or to trains (16) of the railroad network (10). Each train (16) is able to switch from an operational state in which it is able to move along the system of rails (12) and an idle state in which it is unable to move along the system of rails (12) and vice versa. At least one of the trains (16) of the railroad network (10) is in the idle and energized state at the same time, its internal energy storage system (24) being connected to the network energy supply (14).

  • Patent number: 5058391
Abstract: Method of cooling electrical components, especially electronic components, involving evacuation of the calories produced by said components (2) to an outside medium (5) via one or more thermal loops, whereby intermediate heat exchange steps are provided totransfer the calories produced by said electrical components directly or indirectly to the liquid coolant of a refrigerating machine, transfer the calories previously yielded to said liquid coolant to said outside medium (5) whose temperature may be higher than or equal to the operating temperature of said electrical components. An application to automotive vehicle-borne electrical components is described.
