  • Publication number: 20060067781
Abstract: A unitary package having a retractable applicator is particularly suited for dispensing liquid or semi-liquid cosmetic products, such as lip gloss or mascara. The package has a main body and a tubular shell arranged concentrically, wherein the tubular shell has a first portion disposed externally of the main body and a second portion disposed internally of the main body. The outer surface of the tubular shell is adapted to be grasped and rotated with respect to the main body. The inside of the main body defines a reservoir, and the applicator is positioned within and movable with respect to the reservoir. The portion of the tubular shell internal to the main body is threaded and cooperates with threads on the applicator to cause the applicator to extend from within the reservoir to a position external of the package.

  • Publication number: 20060042994
Abstract: A finger operable container is provided for use with cream, paste or cake-like products, such as cosmetics. The container comprises an assembly including a housing and at least one cooperating slide member received by the housing. At least one receptacle is provided in the assembly for receiving the product, and a pair of finger openings is formed in the assembly through which two fingers of the same hand can be inserted. The finger openings are configured and arranged to allow the finger movements of a single hand to move the assembly between a closed storage position in which the receptacle is covered and an open position in which the receptacle is exposed to permit application of the product.

  • Patent number: 4984702
Abstract: This structure includes a resilient collar having a central boss with an opening which receives the discharge apparatus, such as a pump or valve. The collar fits over the flange of the container and has an outward protrusion in the form of fingers. A sleeve is sized to slide down over the side of the collar where it surrounds the flange and cams inwardly the protrusion to hold the collar on the container. The improvement relates to a re-entrant portion at the upper end of the sleeve which extends downward in an inner tube terminating at its lower end in a short inward annular flange which grips the sides of a central boss on the collar to keep the sleeve from being vertically displaced.
