  • Patent number: 11959237
Abstract: Disclosed is a crest element in an armor layer assembly of a breakwater. The crest element includes: a central part; two wings extending from the central part in opposing directions along, when placed on a breakwater, the length direction of the breakwater; and a nose extending from the central part in a forward direction transverse to the length direction of the breakwater. The backside of the central part is a vertically oriented, back face facing in a backward direction opposite to the forward direction. The crest element may in particular be used as crest element for armor layers including armor elements of the type having a central part from which: two wings extend in opposing directions, and a tail and nose extend in opposing directions transverse to the direction of extension of the wings. Also disclosed is an armor layer, a breakwater and methods using the crest elements.

  • Patent number: 10745878
Abstract: Disclosed is a concrete cover element for a breakwater or jetty construction. The cover element includes a plate portion and two noses. The plate portion lies in the xy-plane and has a thickness. The two noses project in opposite directions from the plate portion and form a single part with the plate portion. The plate portion is to be imagined as being formed from a quadrangular plate whose two opposite plate edges are incised in the middle to form a plate recess, and whose corners located on the first plate diagonal are both cut off along a first secant. The plate portion has a first dimension measured along the first plate diagonal and a second dimension measured along the second plate diagonal. The first dimension is smaller than the second dimension.

  • Publication number: 20130230648
Abstract: The invention relates to a kit of parts for preparation of a crosslinkable coating composition comprising a) a binder module comprising a film-forming binder comprising crosslinkable functional groups A, b) a crosslinker module comprising a crosslinker comprising at least two functional groups B capable of reacting with the crosslinkable functional groups A of the binder, c) a thermal activator module comprising one or more components which exhibit an accelerating effect on the reaction between functional groups A and B of the mixture of the binder module and the crosslinker module, d) an ultraviolet activator module comprising one or more components which after irradiation with ultraviolet light exhibit a greater accelerating effect on the reaction between functional groups A and B of the mixture of the binder module and the crosslinker module than before irradiation with ultraviolet light.

  • Patent number: 7657914
Abstract: An object monitoring system, including a slave system having slave processors (14, 16) and a plurality of cameras (10) for monitoring one or more objects, images of the cameras (10) being processed by respective ones of the slave processor (14, 16), and the slave processors including sensors (30) assigned to respective cameras (10) and at least parts of the fields of view of the cameras (10) to detect predetermined characteristics of the at least parts and generate a trigger in response thereto. A master system has to master processor (20) including agents (34) assigned to at least one of the objects and having one or more of the sensors (30) allocated thereto, the agents (34) each generating an event on receiving triggers from the one or more allocated sensors (30). An event system (6) receives the events and determines whether an alarm condition exists. A user interface system (8) can configure the sensors (30) and agents (34) and respond to events.

  • Publication number: 20090004173
Abstract: The present invention encompasses methods and compositions useful in the diagnosis and treatment of drug resistant leukemia. The invention provides a number of genes that are differentially expressed between drug resistant and drug sensitive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). These genes act as biomarkers for drug resistant leukemia, and further serve as molecular targets for drugs useful in treating drug resistant leukemia. Accordingly, the invention provides methods of diagnosing drug resistant leukemia and methods of selecting a therapy for subjects affected by drug-resistant leukemia. The invention also provides methods for screening for compounds for treating drug-resistant leukemia, and improved methods for treating drug-resistant leukemia. Compositions of the invention include arrays, computer readable media, and kits for use in the methods of the invention.

  • Patent number: 5912008
Abstract: The invention concerns a transdermal therapeutic system comprising the active substance 17-.beta.-estradiol and optionally further active substances, with a laminated structure comprising a backing layer which is substantially impermeable to moisture and impermeable to active substance, one or more matrix layers and, where non-adhesive matrix layers are present, an adhesive layer, characterized in that the concentration of the dissolved estradiol in all matrix layers and, where an adhesive layer is present, in the adhesive layer lies between its saturation concentration in dry condition und its saturation concentration in moist condition, whereby the term "dry condition" is understood to mean that the base material is in equilibrium with a gas phase with less than 10% relative humidity and the term "moist condition" is understood to mean that the base material is in equilibrium with a gas phase with more than 90% relative humidity.

  • Patent number: 5047927
Abstract: A memory management system for a packet data mode system is used in conjunction with a direct memory access controller. The management system is of the type for communicating packet data into and out of memory storage. Each message in a packet data mode system contains a control address field and a data field. A change of field signal is generated and communicated to the DMA controller. An end of message signal is generated and communicated to the DMA controller. The control address field is stored separately from the data field. This increases the efficiency of the data storage and enhances the density of information packing into the memory storage.
