  • Patent number: 9108322
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring forces on a substrate lifting apparatus. The system includes a platen cartridge with a platen and a movable lifting portion. The movable lifting portion includes a plurality of lifting arms coupled to a plurality of lift pins. A plurality of force sensing elements are associated with respective ones of the plurality of lifting arms and the plurality of lift pins. A controller receives signals from the plurality of force sensing elements, correlates the signals to respective forces applied to said plurality of lift pins. The correlated forces may indicate to the controller that an error condition exists, such as a stuck wafer, a broken wafer, a mis-positioned wafer, or a mechanical malfunction.

Assignee: Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc.
Inventors: Richard V. Chisholm, Scott E. Peitzsch, Michael Esposito, Robert A. Poitras, Steven M. Anella, Daniel A. Hall, Scott C. Holden, Roger B. Fish

  • Publication number: 20080259028
Abstract: A hand glove mouse, including first, second and third buttons or sensors and a cursor positioner that is not a motion or tilt sensor (i.e., a roller ball, a light sensor, etc.) for adjusting the position of a cursor on a computer monitor. In one embodiment the positioner and buttons are located on a users body, but not on the user's fingertips. In another embodiment, the first, second and third sensors are load sensors on the user's fingertips with an actuation threshold above the load generated by typing. The hand glove mouse also includes a communication means communicating signals generated by the first, second and third buttons or sensors, and by the cursor positioner, to the computer.

  • Publication number: 20070091792
Abstract: A method and system for implementing Multiple Endpoint Paths (MEP) for Point to Multipoint (P2MP) calls over Soft Permanent Virtual Connections (SPVC) are provided. When a condition is detected that requires a particular endpoint to be switched to an alternate endpoint, all calls of the P2MP group that used the particular endpoint are torn down in sequence, in accordance with SPVC procedures. Once all of the calls are torn down, any calls that are enabled for MEP are re-established using the alternate endpoint to replace the particular endpoint.

  • Patent number: 6690022
Abstract: A device for measuring an incidence angle of an ion beam impinging a planar substrate includes an aperture plate having an aperture for intercepting the ion beam and passing a beam portion therethrough, and a sensor located in the substrate plane or a plane parallel thereto behind the aperture plate and having a length along which the beam portion impinges on the sensor at a location which is a function of the incidence angle of the ion beam, the sensor configured to produce a sensor signal indicative of the location of impingement of the beam portion on the sensor and representative of incidence angle. A computing unit may be configured to compare the sensor signal to a predetermined function for determining the incidence angle of the ion beam. Spaced apart sensing devices may be used to determine beam divergence.
