  • Publication number: 20220324136
Abstract: Extrusion techniques for reducing bow of an extrudate formed from a ceramic forming mixture. Velocities of an outer surface of the extrudate are measured at a plurality of peripherally spaced measurement locations. The velocities are compared to determine whether there is a velocity bias, and the comparison is used to selectively alter the flow of the ceramic forming mixture.

  • Patent number: 10989014
Abstract: A perforation blocking sleeve is provided for use in well restimulation, the perforation blocking sleeve having a first anchoring device and one or more expandable members secured to an outer surface of the perforation blocking sleeve. The first anchoring device may be used to secure the perforation blocking sleeve over a perforation cluster within a perforated well casing. The perforation blocking sleeve defines a flow channel and may be remotely and individually uncoupled from a running tool. The perforation blocking sleeve flow channel is sized such that the running tool and a running tool driver are retractable through the flow channel of the perforation blocking sleeve. In one or more embodiments, the perforation blocking sleeve contains an organic polymeric material which expands on contact with a production fluid or an exogenous fluid introduced into the well.

  • Patent number: 9689573
Abstract: Combustion equipment for use in a gas turbine engine is provided. The combustion equipment includes an inner and outer case, wherein the outer case encloses the inner case creating a cavity located between the two cases. The combustion equipment also has a fuel delivery device for delivering fuel into a combustion region within the inner case, wherein the fuel delivery device passes through a hole in the outer case and a corresponding hole in the inner case. The combustion equipment also includes a seal assembly to prevent the leaking of pressurized gas into the cavity located between the outer and inner cases via the hole through which fuel delivery device passes. The seal assembly includes a flexible sleeve that extends around the fuel delivery device and interconnects the inner case with the outer case, permitting relative movement of the inner and outer cases when the combustion equipment is in use.

  • Publication number: 20120133065
Abstract: Systems and methods for real-time, closed-loop shape control of extruded ceramic honeycomb structures are disclosed. Methods include extruding batch material through an extruder barrel and through an extruder die using at least one extrusion screw to form the extrudate, and measuring a shape of the extrudate immediately adjacent the die. The batch material water content is determined or measured, at least one of the extruder barrel and screw temperature are measured, and the extrusion screw rotation rate are measured. At least one of the batch material water content, barrel temperature, screw temperature and rotation rate is adjusted to maintain the extrudate shape to within a select tolerance.

  • Patent number: 4504025
Abstract: A method and apparatus for loading a lengthy tape on a pair of turntables from a plurality of reels. The two turntables are appropriately supported adjacent to each other. The bottom of each turntable supports a large cam having a plurality of indentations defining a multi-lobed path over which a cam follower moves when the turntable is rotated. The cam follower is mounted on one arm of a bell crank of which the other arm supports a pusher member which applies an undulating force to the tape as it is being wound on the turntable. A sensing device is rotatably mounted in the center of each turntable and defines a take-off area for the tape being unwound from the center of the tape supported on the turntable.
