  • Patent number: 5189990
Abstract: An internal combustion engine in which a supply of treated water charged air is provided to the internal combustion engine. The atomic structure of the water is partially dissassembled due to exposure to oxygen attractive metal and also by the addition of a limited amount of chlorine to the liquid water. Water vapor is provided to the air stream through the use of an evaporative pad; this pad has an adjustable exposed surface area, thereby permitting the fine-tuning adjustment of the amount of humidity generated so as to maximize the efficiency of the engine. The presence of the oxygen attractive metal, such as zinc, when combined with the slightly acidic water vapor tends to dislodge oxygen from the hydrogen; this free oxygen and hydrogen recombine in the engine's cylinder to provide added energy release.

  • Patent number: 5033326
Abstract: A shaft for manually guided lift vehicles and lift loaders provided with a driving mechanism has a steering head at the free end containing gripping handles for steering the vehicle and operating switches for the driving and lifting operations of the vehicle. The steering head comprises two cup elements which are detachably connected with one another. One cup element is fixedly connected with the shaft and serves as the supporting part for the second cup element at which the gripping handles as well as the operating switches are located.

  • Patent number: 5007301
Abstract: A combined steering and control head connected by a shaft to guide a floor conveyor vehicle having a fork lifting driving mechanism. This steering head has handles at the end of the shaft which are arranged on both sides of a shaft horn and are held rotatably with the same axis as driving control devices disposed next to the horn. A lifting and lowering switch for controlling lifting movement of a loading fork is arranged adjacent to an end face of the horn. The driving control device consists of a disk-shaped segment at the circumference of which is a first actuating surface extending transversely with respect to the handle. A second actuating surface is arranged at the circumference of the segment opposite the first surface such that at least one of the actuating surfaces can be gripped together with an operating surface of the lifting and lowering switch.

  • Patent number: 4628256
Abstract: An improved meter for measuring RF power. The RF power is applied to thermocouple means which transforms the RF power into a low level d.c. signal which then passes through a chopper stage that is driven by a clamped sinusoidal input. The output of the chopper stage includes periodic pulses with a prescribed pulse spacing: pulse duration ratio, the pulses being passed through a band-pass filter at a harmonic of the chopper drive signal. The filtered signal, which is also amplified, undergoes synchronous detection with a tri-level square-wave signal which is centered in phase relative to the amplified, filtered signal when the two signals are in phase. The power meter measurements adjusted for zero drift and calibration drift by a microprocessor; based on zero measurements and calibration measurements made before and after an RF measurement is made. Measurements are stored and processed digitally to enhance accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4492895
Abstract: An incandescent lamp for use in the headlamp of an automotive vehicle includes a low beam and a high beam filament mounted in a gas-filled, sealed envelope. The filaments are generally parallel, in closely adjacent, overlapping physical relation and each filament includes first and second similarly positioned ends. The lamp is electrically connected to the positive and negative terminals of the vehicle battery via a switch for energizing the high beam filament momentarily in a "flash to pass" mode while the low beam filament remains energized.

  • Patent number: 4091407
Abstract: A semiconductor device having an improved passivating structure comprises a first primary passivating layer free of any layer of silicon nitride (Si.sub.3 N.sub.4), disposed on a surface of a semiconductor body, a metallic conductor disposed on the first passivating layer, and a secondary passivating overcoat disposed over the metallic conductor, wherein the secondary passivating overcoat includes both a glass layer on the conductor and a low-temperature-deposited (typically 300.degree. C) nitride layer on the glass layer. The device is highly resistant to degradation in the presence of water vapor and corrosive atmospheres.
