  • Patent number: 6454248
Abstract: Spring strut with a pneumatic spring and an oscillation damper which can be adjusted as a function of the support pressure. The pneumatic spring has a spring space bounded by a U-type bellows, which spring space is pneumatically connected to a damping device which can be adjusted as a function of a support pressure. A component which having a duct connects the spring space and the damping device is embodied without a hose and is integrated in the spring strut in such a way that it does not form any essential surface change in an unrolling piston associated with the U-type bellows and the unrolling piston forms at least a part of this duct.

  • Patent number: 6260835
Abstract: The invention is directed to a vibration damper such as a shock strut for articulated installation between a car body and a wheel guide part in a motor vehicle by a quick connection. For this purpose, the vibration damper on the shock strut, together with an elastic joint and a connection part, forms a constructional unit or assembly unit. The quick connection is formed between the connection part and the body or the wheel guide without a catch connection and in a rigid manner, so that relative movement is prevented between the connection part and the body or wheel guide part.

  • Patent number: 6220408
Abstract: The invention relates to a spring-and-damper unit with an external storage device for installation between a vehicle body and a wheel guidance part. To create the greatest possible supporting length for the piston rod in a given installation space, the storage device is preferably connected to a spring plate, on which rests a carrying spring embodied as a coil spring, while the spring plate is arranged in a pressure-tight fashion on the cylinder or a container surrounding the cylinder. The interior of the cylinder or the container is hydraulically connected to the storage device via a connecting channel in the spring plate.

  • Patent number: 6076794
Abstract: An arrangment for securing against rotation for a structural component part of a vibration damper or of a shock absorber leg for motor vehicles, which structural component part is provided with a pin type pivot bearing. A piston rod and/or a receptacle is connected, in each instance via a flexible pin type pivot bearing, with the vehicle body or with a wheel guide part. The arrangement for securing against rotation acts between the piston rod and/or the receptacle and the part which is fixed with respect to the vehicle and connected therewith. The arrangement for securing against rotation is formed by a flexible structural component part which participates in the articulated movements and is arranged so as to be positioned between the piston rod and/or the receptacle or cylinder and the part which is fixed with respect to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6070863
Abstract: A piston-cylinder unit includes a cylinder in which a piston rod is located so that the piston rod can move axially. A first connection mechanism is connected to the cylinder, and a second connection mechanism is connected to the piston rod. A positioning cylinder, with a pressure medium connection, is effectively connected to one of the first and second connection mechanisms. The distance between the first and second connection mechanisms can be set by the addition or discharge of pressure medium to or from the positioning cylinder. The positioning cylinder is located in series with the cylinder, and the piston rod forms a guide path or track for the positioning cylinder.
