  • Publication number: 20220061223
Abstract: Vented floor structures are described herein. In some embodiments, precast vented floor structures (which can also be referred to as “air floors”) can be used in crop storage facilities, such as potato, onion, and/or other crop storage facilities. Embodiments of the vented floor structures described herein can be manufactured using a form to create air vents in the floor structure that do not require plastic shells or other ancillary structures to define or create the vent openings. Embodiments also include inserts that can be installed (e.g., removably installed) in vent openings to vary the opening size and/or configuration, or complete plug selected vent openings.

  • Publication number: 20060274275
Abstract: A collimator is compact and uses power efficient light emitting diodes as the illumination source to generate a test image in collimated space. The collimator provides a test image across a wide field of view, which is useful for calibration of optical devices that have a wide field of regard. An optical projection system in the collimator utilizes an array of light emitting diodes, whose light is converged by a Fresnel lens, through a holographic diffuser plate, onto a target plate bearing the test pattern to be projected out into collimated space through a converging lens. An alignment structure provides translation of the target plate along the main axis of the collimator and provides rotational freedom about two axes (vertical and horizontal) via a gimbal structure mounted on the translation mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5605759
Abstract: A process for forming diamond like films of carbon on substrates at room temperature using physical vapour deposition. A source of carbon is physically ablated in the vicintity of a substrate to deposit on the substrate all forms of carbon. A physical discrimination process is applied continuously to remove graphite grains while leaving the aliphatic diamond form intact. The source of carbon is typically a high purity carbon rod. The substrate is typically metal or glass placed within about 60 centimeters where laser pulse energy of 50 millijoules peak power is used. Physical ablation is carried out by ion beam, arc or laser ablation. The resulting carbon plume impinges on the substrate and is thermally quenched. Physical discrimination between carbon forms is by using a laser having a wavelength which is absorbed by graphitic forms but which passes through the aliphatic forms without absorption thereby allowing thermal quenching of the diamond like aliphatic forms.

  • Patent number: 5366556
Abstract: A process for production of diamond-like films comprising the steps of physically ablating a source of carbon in the vicinity of a substrate such that a carbon film grows on the substrate through bonding of carbon atoms in graphitic form and aliphatic form; and physically discriminating the carbon film during growth thereof by supressing or etching the graphitic form within the carbon film while permitting the aliphatic form to remain thereby resulting in a diamond-like film.

  • Patent number: 3951250
Abstract: In a keyboard for an electronic circuit having a striker on each key formed of electronic material which is conductive or carries a conductor and which is moved downwardly towards a fixed conductor assembly to provide capacitive coupling, it is found that electrostatic charges can be generated by operation of a key which give spurious outputs. The present invention provides constructions for reducing the effects of such charges.
