  • Publication number: 20230024039
Abstract: Techniques for automatic control of a vehicle are disclosed. The vehicle may include a removable input device having various modes of operation. For example, a coupled mode of operation may control the vehicle when an operator is in an operator area of the vehicle, while a remote mode of operation may enable vehicle control when the operator is outside of the operator area. The vehicle may include object sensors to detect a target such as the removable input device or an operator device. Accordingly, the vehicle may automatically follow the target. The vehicle may also identify obstacles, in response to which manual control of the vehicle may at least temporarily be provided to the operator, after which automatic control may resume.

  • Patent number: 9632660
Abstract: A direct digital drive audio system and method system and method are presented. The direct digital drive system and method utilizes a digital signal to directly drive the speakers. In one exemplary implementation, an audio system includes a sample register, an convergence adjustment component, an accumulated error register, a digital driver and a speaker. The sample register is coupled to the convergence adjustment component which is coupled to the accumulated error register and the digital driver which in turn is coupled to the speaker. The sample register holds an audio sample. The convergence adjustment component calculates the error for each sample. The accumulated error register stores an accumulated error. The digital driver determines whether to drive on a positive digital value, drive on a negative digital value or not drive. The speaker creates audio sounds based upon a signal from the digital driver.

  • Patent number: 8754545
Abstract: Disclosed are novel interconnections of a coupling circuit and an energy storage device which enables the storage device to provide back-up power for a switching power supply without requiring the device to store or output high voltage, and which enables full utilization of the energy stored in the device. In exemplary embodiments, the combination of the coupling circuit and the energy storage device may be coupled between the input and output of the switching power supply (e.g., between the non-ground terminals of the input and output ports of the switching power supply). The coupling circuit is configured to couple power from the energy storage device to the input of the switching power supply when the input power source is not provided to the switching power supply, and optionally to couple power from the input power source to the energy storage device when the input power source is provided.

  • Patent number: 7287154
Abstract: An electronic processing boot up system and method are presented. The electronic processing boot up system and method can utilize ROM emulation to store bootstrap instructions and to facilitate reduction of relatively expensive ROM. For example, a ROM emulation system and method utilizes minimal or no ROM. An electronic processing boot up system can include a bus, a processor, and a ROM emulation system for making bootstrap information available to the processor. The processor can issue an initial memory fetch request and the ROM emulation system can perform a ROM emulation process in response to the memory fetch request. The ROM emulation process can include receiving a fetch request for information, translating the fetch request into memory compatible commands for retrieving the information, holding off the processor while the information is retrieved, and forwarding the information in a format compatible with a reply to the memory fetch.
