  • Patent number: 6223778
Abstract: A weft insertion apparatus for a series shed weaving machine contains a unit of fixed location with a plurality of passages (21) and with a plurality of nozzles (25) and a unit which rotates with the weaving rotor (1) with a plurality of nozzles (12) to draw off the weft threads which are supplied to the passages and to shoot them successively into the shed. This apparatus enables the insertion of weft threads of different kinds in rapid succession.

  • Patent number: 4515186
Abstract: Two rods are provided which are reciprocal between two end positions cooperating with two flexible retaining members, an electromagnet is located between the retaining members, the electromagnet includes a core having two flanged sections of different widths, an armature body each is mounted to the retaining members, the armature bodies are arranged such that they on the one hand abut flatly the border of the two flanged sections and such that on the other hand an air gap is provided between each armature body and the narrower of the flange sections, if the knife moves a rod toward its upper position the retaining member is deflected such to adjust the air gap prevailing between the narrower flange section of the electromagnet and the armature body to a predetermined value, and in operation this control means has two exactly defined control instances during which the deflection of the retained members proceed definitely toward the correct side regarding the function and the power consumption of the electromag

  • Patent number: 4441530
Abstract: A ribbon loom for manufacturing a ribbon tape or the like containing warp threads and weft thread loops inserted from one side of a warp shed. A first auxiliary thread is drawn through the weft thread loops and a second auxiliary thread disposed outside of the weft thread loops is knitted with each n-th stitch of the first auxiliary thread in order to secure the same. The ribbon loom comprises a weft thread insertion element, a knitting needle for tying the weft thread loops by means of at least one auxiliary thread and a thread guide for the second auxiliary thread constructed such that for knitting the second auxiliary thread it inserts such second auxiliary thread into said knitting needle, after the knitting needle has drawn a loop of the first auxiliary thread through the weft thread loop.

  • Patent number: 4344307
Abstract: A thread control device of a weft knitting machine comprises a thread guide, which is fastened to a weft rod. The weft rod is mounted to be pivotable about its longitudinal axis and to be axially displaceable in supports, which in turn are movable at right angles to the axis. The weft rod is connected to be secure against rotation with a non-axially displaceable crank. A non-rotatable drive transfer member is reciprocatingly displaceable in a plane parallel to the axis by, for example, a pivot arm. A thrust member is articulated by ball joints to the crank and to the transfer member and in operation converts reciprocating motion of the transfer member into oscillatory pivotation of the crank. Such a thread control device makes high operating speeds possible and enables production of tapes with complicated patterns.

  • Patent number: 4202381
Abstract: A ribbon fabric, a method for manufacturing the same and a ribbon loom for carrying out the aforesaid method, wherein the ribbon fabric or tape has weft thread loops inserted from one side of the warp shed therethrough. At the other side of the warp shed a first auxiliary thread is drawn through the weft thread loops, and a second auxiliary thread, located outside of the weft thread loops is knitted with each n-th stitch of the first auxiliary thread for securing the latter.

  • Patent number: 4059131
Abstract: The jacquard selection system employs a slider between each multimorphous bending element and jacquard needle to absorb the stress imposed by the needle during a sensing operation. The sliders move within a guide in which they are spaced from the walls of the guide with a clearance. When a needle is to be blocked so as to sense a position of a bending element, the slider is moved by the bending element into the path of the needle so that, on moving, the needle abuts the slider and pushes the slider against the guide wall. The sliders may be mounted on the bending elements by springs or may be movable therewith via a recess which receives the free end or a resilient tip on the free end of the bending elements.
