    Abstract: An electrical ignition assembly for igniting flare gases and including at least a pair of spaced apart ignitor rods located adjacent the exit end of the stack, and an electrical control assembly for providing a spark across the pair of rods. The assembly may also be employed to light a flare stack pilot, if desired. In addition a pilot flame thermocouple and a stack flame thermocouple may be provided to monitor the system.
