  • Patent number: 6240369
Abstract: A system for distributing weather information accepts differing types of such information for storage in a number of databases. Data representing levels of precipitation are stored in an overall database, to be overwritten as new data becomes available. Data representing storm warnings and lightening strikes are stored in a time-sensitive database, to be erased according to a predetermined schedule. Data representing a satellite photograph of cloud cover are stored in a cloud map database. These databases are read to obtain data which is transmitted to terminals within various regions, so that each terminal receives weather information for an area surrounding its region.

  • Patent number: 5873241
Abstract: Disclosed is a rocket engine which uses pressurized, vaporized propellant from the engine cycle to drive the boost pumps that provide propellants to the primary pumps. Additionally, an accumulator tank is provided which stores some of the pressurized, vaporized propellant and selectively releases the propellant to drive the boost pumps at subsequent engine start-up.

  • Patent number: 5267437
Abstract: Disclosed is a rocket engine having a low operating mode in which propellants are provided to the combustion chamber by the combined effect of boost pumps and the pressure differential between the propellant tanks and the combustion chamber, and a high operating mode in which primary pumps further increase the pressure at which propellant is provided to the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 4912925
Abstract: A redundant rocket engine for high reliability that incorporates a single thrust chamber and its attendent hydrogen and oxygen injectors and provides a pair of independent but indentical engine systems that provide the fuel feed and cooling systems where one system remains in a standby condition until a malfunction occurs while the other system remains operative. The independent systems are comprised of all of the movable parts.
