  • Publication number: 20230248538
Abstract: Technologies for aligning an acetabular prosthetic component in a patient's surgically prepared acetabulum include a reference sensor module securable to the patient's bony anatomy, an inserter sensor module securable to an acetabular prosthetic component inserter, and a display module. Each sensor module generates sensor data indicative of the orientation of the sensor module and/or structures to which the sensor module is coupled. The display module receives the sensor data from the sensor modules, determines the orientation of the acetabular prosthetic component relative to the patient's bony anatomy, and displays indicia of the determined orientation on a display.

  • Publication number: 20140276871
Abstract: Technologies for aligning an acetabular prosthetic component in a patient's surgically prepared acetabulum are disclosed. The disclosed technologies include a reference sensor module securable to the patient's bony anatomy, an inserter sensor module securable to an acetabular prosthetic component inserter, and a display module. Each sensor module generates sensor data indicative of the orientation of the sensor module and/or structures to which the sensor module is coupled. • Patent number: 4902965
Abstract: A microprocessor controlled utility consumption meter is provided. The meter is to be associated with sensors for detecting the consumption of a utility and includes a real time clock operable to generate time signals to divide a predetermined time period into a plurality of intervals, the intervals defining critical and non-critical utility consumption times. A processor is also provided which communicates with the sensors and is responsive to the timing signals for storing the utility conmsumption for each of the intervals in the period. An accumulator accumulates the utility consumption for each of the intervals over a plurality of periods. The meter also includes an interface for allowing the accumulated utility consumption stored in the meter to the transmitted to a central computer for processing.

  • Patent number: 4837016
Abstract: Protection inducing antigens or parasites of the genus Plasmodium are described. The antigens have an apparent molecular weight of 1.8 to 2.5.times.10.sup.5 and are associated with the membranes of the erythrocytic schizont forms of the parasite. The antigens may be incorporated into vaccines and used for the inducing of immunity into susceptible vetebrate hosts including humans. Methods for the preparation of the antigens are also described.

  • Patent number: 4702115
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting the injection of a solvent borne sample into the injector port of a chromatograph having a carrier gas flow path for pressurizing the port. The gas pressure in a region adjacent the injector port is monitored. When vaporization of the solvent causes the carrier gas pressure to rise above the steady state value by a threshold amount, a control signal is generated which serves as an accurate time reference for the moment of sample injection into the injector port. The carrier gas pressure is monitored by time averaging the instantaneous carrier gas pressure and differentially sensing the instantaneous carrier gas pressure and the time averaged instantaneous carrier gas pressure. The time averaging is preferably done by flow restricting the carrier gas and accumulating the flow restricted carrier gas in a chamber.
