    Abstract: A cold box particularly for use in a LNG cryogenic processes in which a plurality of cores of heat exchanger units are mounted within a housing. Headers are positioned in the housing with feed lines connecting the headers to manifolds on the cores. The cores and headers are arranged such that no header is positioned to block the removal of any core through the front and/or back of the housing. A method of making the cold box is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A process for the recovery of ethane and heavier hydrocarbon components from a hydrocarbon feed gas stream. Feed gas stream is cooled into a first and second cooled streams. First and second cooled streams are sent to a cold absorber and separated into a first gas stream and a first liquid stream. First gas stream is expanded and sent to a fractionation tower. At least a part of the first liquid stream is sent to a pre-demethanizer stripper tower. Stripper tower produces a stripper overhead stream and a stripper bottoms stream. Stripper overhead vapor stream is cooled and sent to the fractionation tower as second reflux stream. Stripper bottoms stream is supplied to the fractionation tower. Temperatures and pressures of the streams and columns are maintained to recover a major portion of ethane and heavier hydrocarbon components as a bottoms product stream, and produce a residue gas stream at the fractionation tower overhead.

    Abstract: A process and apparatus for exploitation and liquefaction of natural gas in offshore stranded gas reserves. Two ordinary nautical vessels are used to produce, store and unload LPG and LNG. Typical front end processing is performed on the first vessel. The treated inlet gas is transported to the second vessel where the stream goes through liquefaction and storage until it is offloaded to a transport vessel for shipment. The liquefaction process utilizes two refrigerant cycles that utilize two expanded refrigerants, at least one of which is circulated in a gas phase refrigeration cycle. The refrigerants and the inlet gas stream are transported between the two vessels by the use of piping. Electricity can be generated to provide power for the compression sections of the refrigeration cycles. Turbines, engines, or boilers from the vessels can be used for generating electricity since they are no longer needed for locomotion purposes.

    Abstract: Carbon dioxide is separated from light hydrocarbons such as methane and ethane by absorbing CO.sub.2 gas with water at a pressure of at least 500 psia thus avoiding the CO.sub.2 --C.sub.2 H.sub.6 azeotrope problem. The CO.sub.2 is recovered from the absorbing water by pressure reduction and flashing and/or by heating and flashing. The process is particularly applicable to the recovery of high pressure pure carbon dioxide from the wellhead products of carbon dioxide flooding used in enhanced oil recovery. The high pressure pure carbon dioxide is liquified and reinjected to the well at the desired pressure.

    Abstract: A cryogenic process for separating methane from ethane and heavier hydrocarbons in which a high pressure gas feed is divided into two gas streams. The gas is cooled either before or after it is divided and this step may include some condensation in which case the condensate is separated from the gas. One of the divided gas streams is expanded through a work expansion machine down to the pressure of the fractionation column. Any separated condensate is also expanded to the column pressure. The second divided gas stream is further cooled by heat exchange and then expanded down to an intermediate pressure whereby a portion is condensed. This condensate is separated from the remaining gas and then expanded to the column pressure. The remaining gas is further cooled and expanded and fed to the column as the top feed.
