  • Patent number: 11137202
Abstract: A refrigeration appliance includes a compartment for storing food items in a refrigerated environment, the compartment being illuminated by at least one modular LED illumination device. The portion of the illumination device disposed within the compartment is generally flush with a mounting section and includes an LED lighting module arranged in a housing. The module has a board member, two or more LED light sources electrically connected to one another and to the board member, and two or more electrical edge connections for allowing electrically parallel connection between two or more modules being interchangeable with one another. A concave reflecting surface is positioned adjacent the module with a majority of light emitted from the LED light sources being incident thereon for reflection into the compartment. A liner defining the compartment has the mounting section to which the housing is mounted, where the mounting section has an inward draft angle.

  • Patent number: 11109188
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and processing spatiotemporal data are disclosed. Signals are received from user devices, where each of the signals includes an identifier of a respective user device that transmitted the signal. A first subset of the signals is determined, where each signal in the first subset was received from a first user device. A first signal in the first subset is identified to classify as a begin signal based on a configuration associated with a first physical area, and a second signal in the first subset is identified to classify as an end signal based on the configuration associated with the first physical area. An amount of time that elapsed between receiving the begin signal and receiving the end signal is determined, and an estimated spatiotemporal measure is generated based at least in part on the determined first amount of time.

  • Publication number: 20200382367
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method comprising: providing a user interface to a user positioned remote from the server; receiving, from the user via the user interface: configuration data to configure a plurality of devices positioned remote from, and in communication with, the server; and rule data including user-defined rules governing one or more processing actions for execution by the server upon receipt by the server of one or more input signals from a first device; storing the configuration and rule data in a memory in association with the server; wherein in response to the server receiving the one or more input signals from the first device, the server determines one or more output signals according to the rule data and the configuration data; and wherein the server causes the one or more output signals to be transmitted to at least one second device to cause an event to occur.

  • Publication number: 20170342957
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a support structure for Tidal Energy Converters (TECs), the support structure being for completely submerged deployment. A preferred support structure includes a single stanchion 4, extending in a first direction, and a cross arm 5, extending in a second direction perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The cross arm 5 is statically attached to the stanchion 4, and can support a plurality of TECs 3. A support structure also includes a support frame 7, which extends further in a third direction, perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the first and second directions, than in the second direction. The support frame 7 is operable to anchor the support structure to a seabed.

  • Publication number: 20160296870
Abstract: A vent filter for a cooking appliance is disclosed. The vent filter is user-replaceable once it has been spent or its filtration capacity consumed. In disclosed embodiments, the filter is provided in or as part of a cartridge that can be reversibly installed and removed from the appliance without tools. Retention structure is disclosed for holding the filter media in place in a filter receptacle communicating with or formed as part of the exhaust duct of the appliance for air to be filtered. In embodiments, the filter is configured as a recirculating filter to remove odor-causing contaminants, among other contaminants, from cooking fumes before the air from those fumes is recirculated into the kitchen or other ambient environment.

  • Publication number: 20050236189
Abstract: A coiled tubing directional drilling apparatus which is operated by a mud motor and is characterized by a fixed housing and a rotary steerable bent housing or sub which is selectively rotatable with respect to the fixed housing at a fixed angle bend by a shifting mechanism, typically operated by a reversible electric motor. The motor and shifting mechanism rotate with the drive shaft and employ a lead screw in a cross-nut arrangement that selectively engages and disengages a castle lock or power take-off drive system responsive to the direction of rotation of the motor, for effecting 360-degree rotation of the bent housing with respect to the fixed housing. A sun gear and pinion gear planetary gear system facilitate rotation of the bent housing with respect to the fixed housing at a slower speed than the drive train and bit box components of the device.

  • Patent number: 6017353
Abstract: An instrument for retrieving foreign bodies from an ear or nose canal having a hollow tubular body with a longitudinal passageway therein and a rod with a plurality of flexible members attached at one end. In the closed position, the rod and flexible members are received within the passageway and the flexible members are collapsed against each other. In the open position, the flexible members extend beyond the end of the tubular body and expand apart. The ends of the flexible members have an angled portion for grasping and retrieving the foreign body. In use, the instrument is placed in the ear or nose canal in the closed position. The tubular body is slid towards the rod end of the instrument, causing the flexible members to expand against the ear or nose canal wall. The entire instrument is pushed into the ear or nose canal until the angled portions go beyond the stuck foreign body. The tubular body is then slid forward to trap the foreign body in the flexible members.
