Abstract: A reservoir and a septic system are provided. The reservoir can have a wall having a top end and a bottom end, an opening at the top end of the wall, a floor at the bottom end of the wall, an internal cavity defined by the wall and the floor and an inlet passing into the internal cavity above the floor. The septic system can comprise a septic tank, at least one liquid permeable leaching channel connected to the septic tank and at least one of the reservoirs. The reservoir positioned partially in the ground such that the top end of the reservoir is positioned above the ground and the bottom end of the reservoir is positioned below the ground with the inlet of the reservoir connected to the at least one leaching channel.
