  • Patent number: 6725559
Abstract: The tool for locating a center mark for embroidery on articles such as garments includes a planar body having orthogonally-related legs with respective exterior and interior edges. Index markings are provided on the legs along the linear edges. The index markings include indicia identifying a plurality of corresponding preestablished garment sizes along the linear extending edges, respectively. By aligning common selected sizes along the edges with the vertical centerline of a folded garment and a shoulder portion of the garment, respectively, the location of the embroiderer's center mark on the garment is identified at the intersection of the linear edges. The interior edges of the tool may also used to form marking lines where conventional hoop grids are not available.

  • Patent number: 6216617
Abstract: A mounting system for placement of an embroidery hoop having inner and outer rings includes a flat base having orthogonally related columns and rows of apertures therethrough, mounting brackets and eccentrics. The brackets and eccentrics are mounted to the base in positions to locate and confine the hoop. The base includes index marks for aligning the article to be embroidered relative to the base and to the hoop. When the article is aligned on the base, the inner ring of the hoop is applied to engage portions of the material of the article between the outer and inner rings with the material spanning the inner ring being maintained taut. Different sized bases are provided for embroidering various sizes of different articles.

  • Patent number: 5784988
Abstract: Embroidery hoops are mounted onto embroidery material using an embroidery hoop mounting device which can mount variably sized and shaped embroidery hoops for use with automated embroidery machines. The embroidery hoop mounting device utilizes a backing having a cam lock system on one side to adaptively hold the variously sized and shaped hoops during the mounting process. Handles are carried on the opposite side of the device for manipulating the device to engage the hoops with one another and with margins of the embroidery material between the hoops.
