Abstract: A method is provided for distributing multimedia content in an electronic media distribution system. The method includes the steps of: (a) providing active hidden data, where the active hidden data includes a plurality of executable machine instructions; (b) embedding active hidden data into the host data stream, thereby forming an embedded data stream; (c) transmitting the embedded data stream from a content provider device to a player device; (d) extracting the active hidden data from the embedded data stream on the player device; and (e) executing the active hidden data on the player device.

Abstract: An event programming guide for scheduling and retrieving items on a video display. The event programming guide includes a virtual analog clock interface disposed on the video display. The event programming guide includes a display interface medium that facilitates activation of an item selection feature for manipulating the items of interest on the video display for scheduling/retrieving and further programming.

Abstract: An illustrative demonstration apparatus for use in storing information in a memory is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a reusable panel for temporary display of user-drawn marks, a digitizer for generating digital information corresponding to the user-drawn marks, and an indexer for associating the digital information with a header. The header is based at least in part on a selected portion of the user-drawn marks selected by the user. The apparatus may also feature a redisplay capability permitting redisplay of the user-drawn marks on the reusable panel based on the digital information.
