  • Patent number: 6948700
Abstract: A demolition tool for impact hammering, impact pulling and prying is provided which includes an elongate handle defining a passage extending therethrough and first and second rods inserted at respective ends of the handle. The first rod is slidably engaged within the handle and includes a hook at its outer end. The second rod is fixedly secured within the handle and includes a chisel at one end. The chisel can be used for impact chiseling or prying by sliding the first rod to a retracted position, such that its inner end collides with the inner end of the second rod. The hook may used for impact pulling by lifting the handle away from the hook into an expanded position in which the first rod is prevented from leaving the handle by a stopping mechanism. To increase leverage for prying, the tool may be extended to the expanded position. Because the stopping mechanism is within the handle, the risk of injury to the user is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6850861
Abstract: A monitoring system particularly useful for monitoring food located at one or a plurality of food serving or storage location includes a sensing subsystem and a processing subsystem. The sensing subsystem may include at least one sensing device and the processing subsystem may include a personal computer. The processing subsystem may be adapted to encrypt received data to the end that data stored in memory is substantially impervious to data tampering.

  • Patent number: 5007711
Abstract: An arrangement for head-up display system components incorporated into an aircraft cockpit forward of the ejection plane (124) provides space for accommodating a head-down display device (132) immediately beneath the over-nose vision surface (128) and adjacent to the ejection plane (124). The arrangement of components minimizes the amount of angular change in the pilot's line of sight that is required when the pilot moves his head to change his view from the outside real world scene to the head-down display device.

  • Patent number: 4874824
Abstract: Thermoplastic copolymers of glytaric anhydride and (meth)acrylic esters may be prepared free of acid groups by reacting a (meth)acrylic ester polymer with a secondary amine at elevated temperature, and subsequently removing volatile components from the polymer at elevated temperature and reduced pressure.

  • Patent number: 4632754
Abstract: Reverse osmosis liquid filtration apparatus, which apparatus comprises an inlet conduit, a reverse osmosis chamber, a pump for pumping liquid to be filtered from the liquid inlet conduit to the reverse osmosis chamber, a reverse osmosis membrane positioned in the reverse osmosis chamber and dividing the reverse osmosis chamber into a first portion for containing concentrated unfiltered liquid and a second portion for containing filtered liquid that has passed through the reverse osmosis membrane, a first outlet conduit which extends from the second portion of the reverse osmosis chamber and which is for the filtered liquid, a reservoir, reservoir separator means, a second outlet conduit for concentrated unfiltered liquid, and valve means.

  • Patent number: 4439109
Abstract: A pump for pumping a liquid containing solid contaminants, which pump comprises rotatable pumping means for pumping the liquid from a pump inlet to a pump outlet, a filter for filtering the liquid, auxiliary pumping means for pumping the liquid to the filter, first passage means for passing filtered liquid to at least one bearing in the pump for lubrication, a rotor device which is operative during use of the pump to cause the liquid inside the filter to swirl and clean the inside of the filter, and second passage means for allowing the passage of unfiltered liquid from the inside of the filter whereby the unfiltered liquid can remove separated solid contaminants on the inside of the filter.
