  • Publication number: 20240200597
Abstract: A device for supporting a shaft includes: a permanent magnet connected to the shaft: a stator having first and second yokes made of a soft-magnetic material: a first actuator coil on the first yoke; and two or more second actuator coils on the second yoke. The first yoke has an opening into which the shaft is inserted so that an axial air gap is formed between the first yoke and an end face of the shaft, or an element connected thereto. A radial air gap is formed between the first yoke and a circumferential surface of the shaft. A further radial air gap is formed between the circumferential surface of the shaft and the second yoke. The permanent magnet is positioned relative to the first and second yokes such that the permanent magnet generates a magnetic bias flux in both the axial air gap and the further radial air gap.

  • Publication number: 20240035206
Abstract: A driven ring assembly for a ring-spinning or ring-twisting machine includes a ring and an electric drive having a stator and a rotor with a magnet. A ring crown is on the ring and a ring traveler is on the ring crown. A connecting portion is between the ring and the rotor. The electric drive includes coil winding strands in the stator that generate a torque and radial forces. An axial degree of freedom and tilting degrees of freedom of the rotor are passively stabilized by reluctance forces and radial degrees of freedom of the rotor are actively stabilized by a control loop controlling current through the coil winding strands.

  • Patent number: 9925508
Abstract: A gas assisted spray nozzle assembly having a nozzle body in the form of a hollow tubular member, such as a single cylindrical pipe section, which defines a mixing zone and a downstream barrel extension zone. A liquid inlet and an impingement pin are supported by the tubular member in opposed relation to each other at the mixing zone, and a pressurized gas inlet is provided at an upstream end of the tubular member. An annular dispersion ring is fixedly supported within the tubular member downstream of the impingement pin for defining an annular ledge for directing a peripheral portion of pressurized gas stream and liquid atomized in the mixing zone radially inwardly for facilitating continued intermixing of the liquid and pressurized gas stream as they proceed through the barrel zone for discharge from the spray nozzle.
