  • Patent number: 5442871
Abstract: Free standing and wall mounted poster and sign displays are disclosed. Each of these devices comprise a sign frame with similar top and bottom curved extrusions, similar side frame extrusion members, and a backing member. The upper and lower frame extrusion members include elongated slots which are used to hold the display indicia in place by the "lift and fall" principle. The side frame members contain spring biased cover members which clamp the sign materials in place against the backing member. A clear protective covering member is hooked in place in the slot in the upper frame extrusion member. Unique corner connecting members are used to secure and connect together the frame members around the backing member forming the sign devices. The corner connecting members comprise cap members which cover the open ends of the upper and lower frame extrusion members, as well as insert members which fit within the open ends of the side frame extrusion members.

  • Patent number: 5340068
Abstract: A release mechanism for a locking, pivotable leg for an assembly to allow an individual to use his foot to disengage the locking element which locks the pivotable leg into its operative position in which a plurality of such legs engage a supporting surface. The release mechanism includes a release pin having an enlarged head and transmission means to transmit movement of the release pin to the locking element moving it from its operative locking position. Where the locking element is of a type including a locking pin which is biased into a locking pin hole in a base bracket by biasing means such as a leaf spring, the transmission means of the present invention includes a release pin spring shoulder, a locking pin spring groove and a pin slot in the leaf spring disposed to engage these two components.

  • Patent number: 4519152
Abstract: A theft proof poster display device having front and back extruded portions pivotally connected to one another to define a frame forming member. The front portion defines a generally u-shaped member having smooth surfaces and rounded non-convoluted corners and the front and back portions are biased together under spring compression rendering a poster frame which cannot be gripped with enough frictional force to open the frame. An opener tool with lever arm and an integral inclined planar wedge member is engageable with the front portion of the frame for opening the poster display device.

  • Patent number: 4288053
Abstract: An adjustable bracket for mounting a sign on a pole is disclosed. The bracket has a sign holding means on one side and a securing means on the other. The sign holding means is adapted to hold a wide variety of sizes and shapes of signs, whether placed horizontally, vertically or at an angle relative to the pole. The securing means is self-centering on the pole and securely holds the bracket and sign firmly in place. The securing means grips the sign pole firmly along two lines of force and yet can be tightened and loosened by hand.

  • Patent number: 4265040
Abstract: A display device having track members on two sides of a single backing member for securely gripping and holding differently sized posters, signs and advertising materials is disclosed. The track members comprise elongated extrusions having one or more flange members thereon which mate with corresponding projections or rib means on the backing member of the display device. The advertising materials are inserted on the display device so that at least one edge thereof is positioned between a flange member and one or more projections. The panels are held securely in place by tension. A plurality of frame-like members are preferably positioned on the exterior edges of the backing panel.

  • Patent number: 4041632
Abstract: An improved art frame having a plurality of frame sections secured together by spring clips is disclosed. Brace members are positioned at the corners of the frame for additional strength and stability. A plurality of spring members each having at least one biased arm are positioned on the inside of the frame and releaseably hold the contents thereof in position. The frame is adapted to hold display and art materials of various sizes and thicknesses and to allow such materials to be easily and quickly inserted and removed.
