Abstract: The invention provides a device for applying a fluid medium onto the surface of an article. It comprises a tightly sealed, preferably metallic storage container and a fluid application assembly including a sleeve member and an application member which latter is laterally covered by the sleeve member when the device is in its inoperative position. Upon executing a relative movement between sleeve member and storage container, a locking member is destroyed, a seal of the container is broken and the application member is exposed such that the device is ready to use. It is particularly suitable for storing and applying small amounts of moisture-sensitive liquids, e.g. primers for adhesive joints.
