  • Patent number: 12007569
Abstract: A compact projector for eyewear including a refractive lens to achromatize an image and to reduce the size of the projector. The compact projector includes two total internal reflection (TIR) prisms, a polarizing beamsplitter, a quarter-wave plate, and the refractive lens combining refractive and reflective power, referred to as catadioptric. In one example, a light source generates light that is directed through a collector, into a first TIR prism, to the polarizing beamsplitter, and to a display panel. The display panel modulates the light and creates an image. The image is directed through the beamsplitter, into a second TIR prism, through a quarter-wave plate, and then to the refractive lens. The refractive lens reflects the image back into the second TIR prism, and which image then exits to a waveguide. In a second example, the display generates an illuminated image which is then processed as in the first example.

  • Publication number: 20110075784
Abstract: A method of repairing a nuclear fuel cell wall and tools useful for performing that repair are described. A repair tool may be used to align a jack near a region of a bent or distorted structural component of nuclear fuel cell and that jack may be used to apply a force to that structural component. Application of such a force may serve to bend the structural component of a nuclear fuel cell in a way to restore the structural component to its position before damage occurred. The repair tool includes a way of mounting that tool to a fuel cell, positioning elements to align the tool near a structural deformation or bent element and a jack that may be use to apply a force to at least one structural component in a fuel cell.

  • Patent number: 6644761
Abstract: A towed vehicle brake actuation system comprising an adjustable inertia activated switch and a relay in series and a radio transmitter, all in the towing vehicle where an electrical signal must pass through both the switch and the relay before the towed vehicle brake actuation system is actuated. When the switch and a brake light switch in the towing vehicle are both activated, an electric current passes to the radio transmitter which sends a signal to a radio receiver in a towed vehicle which activates a first towed vehicle relay that permits current to pass on to a towed vehicle adjustable inertia activated switch which upon actuation by towed vehicle deceleration permits current to pass through a second towed vehicle relay to a vacuum valve that is a part of the towed vehicle brake actuation system.

  • Patent number: 6158823
Abstract: The present invention is a vacuum operated brake actuation sytem for actuating a towed vehicle's brake system. In a preferred embodiment it comprises a source of vacuum, a vacuum level sensor and switch, an electrically operated, spring return, four way, two position, vacuum valve with speed controls, and a double acting vacuum operated cylinder that actuates the towed vehicle's brake pedal which actuates the towed vehicle's brake system as the cylinder is directed by the valve. The preferred embodiment also comprises electrical wiring, vacuum hoses, fittings, connections, check valves, a breakaway switch, and other miscellaneous bracketry and hardware as required to complete the system. A vacuum pump along with a vacuum level sensor and switch for monitoring vacuum levels and passing electrical power to operate the vacuum pump as required are included in the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
