Abstract: An exemplary embodiment includes a method and system for providing management of a transportation system on a computer system. The management of a transportation system method is embodied in a computer program product for execution on an instruction processing system, comprising a tangible storage medium readable by the instruction processing system is storing instructions for execution by the instruction processing system. The method comprises loading passenger credential data into a database on a remote device, collecting a passenger identifying media to verify the passenger has a ticket and comparing the passenger identifying media to the passenger credential data in the database on the remote device. The method further comprises allowing the passenger to board the vehicle if the passenger has a valid ticket and following a customer operations policy action if the passenger does not have a valid ticket.
