  • Patent number: 9675056
Abstract: Spoon, swimbait, jig and hard bodied fishing lures fishing equipped with one or more light sources interacting and/or interfacing with one or more polymer light transmission mediums are described herein. The light source optically coupled to the polymer light transmission medium acts to illuminate one or more areas of the fishing lure to provide and maintain its color, color pattern, iridescence, and flash. The combination of the lenticular lens placed with the flat back translucent surface to the polymer light transmission medium on or adjacent to the polymer light transmission medium to mimic the exact appearance of the bait fish while giving the lure a motion effect and a two or three dimensional appearance not attainable by any other lure technology known today.

  • Publication number: 20070062094
Abstract: The present invention relates to fishing lures equipped with one or more light sources interacting and/or interfacing with one or more light transmission mediums. The light transmission medium acts to illuminate one or more areas proximate to the fishing lure to provide a natural luminance or iridescence. The light transmission medium can be made from a flexible translucent hot melt thermoplastic material extruded into a polymer lens and can be located on an outer surface of a body of the fishing lure or inside the body of the fishing lure. The light transmission medium can also be provided in the form of a soft flexible component made from Plastisol or other similar translucent materials. The light source can be embedded in or located proximate to the light transmission medium to amplify, intensify, and/or disperse light along the light transmission medium to provide a natural looking luminescence to the fishing lure.

  • Publication number: 20060278718
Abstract: An identification patch is provided which includes an illumination system in optical communication with a light transmission medium configured to interact with light from the illumination system to enhance the visibility of the light. Coupled with the illumination system and the light transmission medium is a backing configured to be attached to an external item. An opaque layer in optical communication with the light transmission medium is included which comprises a pattern configured to selectively permit transmission of the light from the illumination system external to the patch.

  • Publication number: 20060198122
Abstract: An illuminated cap, visor, beanie, headband, helmet or similar headwear having an illumination system that is switch activated. The illumination system has one or more light sources that interact and/or interface with a light transmitting medium, such as a polymer lens, to generate illumination. The light source may be activated by a switch, such as a momentary pressure switch, a voice activated circuit, or the like. The switch may also be employed to switch the operation of the light source among various modes, such as a continuous light mode, a flashing mode, or an off mode.

  • Patent number: 6139486
Abstract: An apparatus for applying magnetic and cold therapy to an affected body part includes a stretch type flexible sheath capable of being secured about an injured portion of tissue, one or more packets provided in the interior of the sheath, such packets being flexible within cold temperature ranges, and one or more magnets provided in the gel packet itself, or interior or exterior of the sheath, either by insertion or sewing the magnet into the sheath. According to another embodiment of the invention, an apparatus for simultaneous applying magnetic and cold therapy to body parts features cold therapy gel packets and magnets that are separately insertable into pockets formed in a sheath for application to a body part. According to the method of the present invention, a magnetic field and cold compress are simultaneously applied to an injured body part. Additionally, the present invention discloses a gel packet for cold therapy enclosing permanent magnets for magnetic therapy.

  • Patent number: 4360178
Abstract: An improved pipe clamp for securing a pipe to a structural member consists of two associated elements which are broadly similar, except for structural details peculiar to the several embodiments, and which are disposed on opposite sides of the pipe facing each other. The pipe is retained within the clamp by a double-interlocking snap lock common to all embodiments. Each element includes a locking edge extending parallel to the pipe and also includes a tab extending from the element in a plane perpendicular to the pipe. The tab is tapered by a ramp which is relieved by a recess to provide a hook for engaging the locking edge of the associated element. The hook is engaged by squeezing the ends of the elements together, causing their ramps to ride up on the locking edges of the associated elements until the locking edge of each element snaps into the recess of the other element to produce a double interlocking of the elements embracing the pipe.
