  • Publication number: 20070020084
Abstract: The compressor, in particular lateral channel compressor, comprises a casing member (2, 4) and an impeller (6) which is disposed therein rotatably about an axial axis of rotation and which is spaced from the casing member (2, 4) by a sealing gap (18). The sealing gap is sealed by means of a sealing arrangement which comprises an encircling sealing ring (20) and a spring element (34, 44, 46, 48) that forces the sealing ring (20) against a contact surface (22). The spring load that is applied by the spring element (34, 44, 46, 48) helps obtain automatic, dynamic adaptation to alternating spatial geometries during operation, for example upon temperature fluctuations, which ensures constantly good sealing effects.

  • Patent number: 6085884
Abstract: An actuating element for a clutch includes a stop which is adjustable by an automatic adjusting device for ensuring that the actuating stroke of a piston increases in the releasing direction of the clutch and that the actuating stroke is displaced away from the clutch in response to wear of the clutch linings when the clutch is engaged.

  • Patent number: 6015031
Abstract: An actuating drive for actuating a friction clutch and an automated shift transmission, having valve units which enable a switching operation, on the one hand, of the friction clutch, and on the other hand, of the shift transmission. It is possible for a change to the switching state at the friction clutch to be triggered by a gear selection device. The valve unit that is assigned to the friction clutch is assigned a switching device which has a link between the actuating cylinder for the slot selection and the hydraulic circuit that is connected to the actuating cylinder for actuating the friction clutch and enables the driving, as required, of one or the other actuating cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5944159
Abstract: Hydraulic actuating drive for a clutch, including a control unit, a hydraulic pump which can be driven by a drive and which feeds a pressure accumulator, and an actuating cylinder which is connected via a control valve with the pressure accumulator. The drive of the hydraulic pump is provided with a sensor for detecting the power consumption by the drive, and signals are sent to the control unit so that the hydraulic pump is controllable depending on the power consumption of the drive.

  • Patent number: 5372378
Abstract: A method is submitted for the operative influencing of a damping supporting system mounted between a chassis and a body of a motor vehicle, which system has at least one damping assembly (12) mounted between the chassis and the body of the vehicle, in which method the damping properties of at least a part of the damping assemblies (12) are modified depending upon at least one operational state quantity (BZG) between at least three damping characteristics of different damping intensity. In the method, when a change between a first and a second damping characteristic is desired, both being softer than at least one third damping characteristic, particularly when the second damping characteristic is harder than the first, switching over to the third damping characteristic is effected temporarily in an interval between the effectiveness of the first and the effectiveness of the second damping characteristic.

  • Patent number: 4992028
Abstract: A liquid ring pump includes an impeller rotatably supported in an open ended cup-shaped housing. The impeller includes blades which are spaced to form pockets therebetween so that a certain amount of liquid may be maintained in the pockets to compress gas introduced beneath the liquid. A control disk having an inlet port and at least one outlet port is positioned adjacent to the impeller. A cup-shaped cover having intake and pressure connections and a partition wall therebetween covers the open end of the housing. The control disk and cup-shaped cover together with the partition wall form a suction chamber in fluid communication with the intake connection and a surge chamber in fluid communication with the pressure connection. Intake gas flows from the intake connection into the suction chamber and then through the control disk inlet port into at least one of the impeller blade pockets.
