Abstract: An automated system for assisting in the treatment of patients using evidence-based medicine. The system includes a patient interface to which information is input by a practitioner. The information is stored in a database. A template is provided based on the diagnosis including suggested orders and pertinent articles for use in providing treatment. The system includes a data warehouse which receives all of the data. Analysis is made of the individual patient data as well as research data to determine the most effective treatments. The templates are updated to provide the most effective treatments.
