Publication number: 20240140082Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, devices, and optical components are described. One or more materials used in an optical system may be bonded together using a pulsed laser beam. The bonding process may include transmitting a pulsed laser to irradiate an interface between two components, which may include two optical components or an optical component and a mounting component. The pulsed laser may generate one or more bonding locations where the components are in relatively close contact with each other, which may secure the components together via at least partial melting of material at one or more surfaces of the components. In some examples, the pulsed laser may be scanned over the bonding locations some quantity of times and/or using a pattern to achieve the bond. In some aspects, one or more absorbing layers may be added to the components.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2023Publication date: May 2, 2024Inventors: Justin Paul Gales, Robert Dennis Grejda, Colleen Renee Hagen, Patrick Shea Hendershot, Todd Robert McMichael

Patent number: 11922656Abstract: A method comprises inputting a treatment planning image of a target subject into a machine learning system. The method further comprises determining, by the machine learning system, a first target-subject-specific model of the treatment planning image. The method further comprises applying, by a processing device, the first target-subject-specific model to the treatment planning image to generate a transformed treatment planning image corresponding to a first position of a plurality of positions of the target subject. The method further comprises comparing the transformed treatment planning image to a reference image. The method further comprises, based on the comparing, modifying one or more parameters of the first target-subject-specific model to generate a second target-subject-specific model corresponding to a second position of the plurality of positions.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2020Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Accuray IncorporatedInventors: Calvin R. Patent number: 7533464Abstract: A jewelry ring and an associated assembly method involves the ring being assembled with a set of easily fabricated components that allow for mass production, easy custom fabrication, and use in hobby kits. The ring employs a U-shaped shank formed of sheet material and a bezel formed of sheet material that are attached to each other in a manner that imparts the ability for the bezel “float.” The bezel has an upper portion formed with sheet material to provide for ornamentation with designs or gemstones. The bezel further includes a lower portion that has a plurality of parallel ferrules. The shank includes a plurality of holes in each end and the bezel is attached to the shank with bars or wires that are inserted through one end of the shank, through the ferrules and through the other end of the shank and secured with retainers.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2005Date of Patent: May 19, 2009Inventor: Marthe Roberts/Shea

Publication number: 20060006569Abstract: An improved process for permanently attaching an overlay to a wheel disc, wherein the overlay is aligned and spaced apart from the wheel disc. A mold is created by a combination of the overlay, wheel disc and localized nests that engage at predetermined times during foam filling to close the mold. The mold is adequately sealed so that there is no foam leakage as the foam expands to fill the mold and, therefore, no final trimming of excess foam is required. The improved process is capable of accommodating a wheel having turbine openings therein.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2005Publication date: January 12, 2006Inventors: Lee Chase, Douglas Neeb, Robert Shea
