  • Publication number: 20050159969
Abstract: In one embodiment, a process for managing information technology (IT) infrastructure of an enterprise includes: (1) capturing and storing IT infrastructure information regarding the IT infrastructure of the enterprise; (2) defining a plurality of roles within the enterprise, each role specifying a particular job function within the enterprise; (3) associating items of IT infrastructure with roles within the enterprise such that each role is associated with one or more predetermined items of IT infrastructure; (4) assigning roles to one or more employees of the enterprise such that each of the one or more employees is associated with one or more roles and is assigned the one or more predetermined items of IT infrastructure associated with each of these one or more roles; (5) automatically modeling a change in the IT infrastructure for one or more impacted employees; and (6) automatically initiating deployment of one or more IT infrastructure assets for the one or more impacted employees by organizing delivery

  • Patent number: 6285075
Abstract: An integrated circuit package includes a ceramic ring having an inside cavity for accommodating a semiconductor die. Conductive traces are provided on the ceramic ring so as to serve as power and ground signal busses. Power and ground connection pads on the semiconductor die can be commonly bonded to these conductive traces, which are in turn commonly bonded to selected pins of the lead frame. In addition, an acrylic adhesive is used as a moisture-resistant adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5407487
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing a nickel shell mold by nickel vapour deposition onto a mandrel in a deposition chamber is disclosed. A nickel shell mold assembly is produced having a liquid and vapour-tight cavity co-extensive with the mandrel for receiving a heating fluid, preferably a liquid such as oil, for flood heating of the mandrel to a uniform surface temperature.

  • Patent number: 5126273
Abstract: A monitoring method for application in solid phase peptide synthesis. In one aspect, the synthesis starts with an amino acid residue protected by an N-alpha-amino protecting group and involves the steps: (a) removing the N-alpha-amino protecting group to obtain an N-alpha-amino group, (b) adding an amino acid residue protected by an N-alpha-amino protecting group, via a peptide bond, to the N-alpha-amino group obtained in step (a) by use of a reactive protected amio acid derivative, and (c) repeating steps (a) and (b). The reaction system includes 3-hydroxy-1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-one or a derivative thereof; and the color of the reaction system or of a component thereof is monitored during the synthesis.

  • Patent number: 4691117
Abstract: A contactless electrical switch includes a switch element comprising a piezo-resistive transducer (25). Coded toothed cams (16) operated via a shaft (14) deflect the transducer (25) causing corresponding changes in stress and hence resistance. The output of the transducer is amplified and fed to logic circuitry which determines a corresponding current path.

  • Patent number: 3993193
Abstract: A document sorting system employing a plurality of elongated flexible strips which form document transport channels therebetween and which terminate at a plurality of sorting areas. A magnetic apparatus is provided for selectively deflecting the ends of the flexible strips to form an appropriate channel entrance for the document to be sorted. A coil member is attached to the said end of each flexible strip and current is sent through the coil of the coil members. The coil members are disposed for movement on a piece of the magnetic apparatus and current through the coils of the coil members cooperate with the magnetic field produced by the magnetic apparatus to selectively deflect the coil members and the ends of the flexible strips. The coils of the coil members are connected in a circuit which determines the direction of the current flow in each of the coils.
