  • Publication number: 20260008572
Abstract: A method for filling a plastics container, wherein an excess pressure is built up in the filled and closed container. The method includes the following method steps: filling the plastics container with a liquid, and closing the filled plastics container. In a deformation step, the container, prior to being closed, is deformed by a mechanical force such that the cross-sectional shape of the container is changed and its volume is thereby increased. In a pressure relief step, the mechanical force is removed once the container has been closed, as a result of which the volume contraction causes an excess pressure to build up in the container, and the filling height of the liquid increases.

  • Publication number: 20240100742
Abstract: The invention relates to a method in which a starting material for injection-molding, having a viscosity of between 0.50 and 0.7 dL/g, is produced with the aid of a chain breaker from a recycled post-consumer PET having a viscosity of between 0.72 and 0.86 dL/g according to ASTM D4603 and a copolymer fraction of at most approximately 3%. In the method, the comminuted and dried PET material is melted and decontaminated to such a degree that it is suitable for applications in the food sector and the consumer goods sector. A chain breaker is added to the rPET material in the melt of the recycling extruder and/or preferably the melt of the injection unit in order to lower the viscosity and to enrich the PET with copolymers.

  • Publication number: 20240051185
Abstract: The invention relates to a recycling method for producing a polyolefin recyclate, involving the process of removing contaminants from a contaminated polyolefin material, in which the contaminated polyolefin material is soaked in a solvent in a soaking step in order to dissolve contaminants present in the contaminated polyolefin material in the solvent and to remove the solvent and the contaminants dissolved in the solvent from the polyolefin material. According to the invention, prior to the soaking step, a washing step carried out using water, cleaning agents and/or lye. The contaminated polyolefin material is changed by the soaking/solvent recycling method such that (i) more than 90% of the low-molecular chains of below 2000 daltons are removed or washed out, and the average molecular chain length of the polyolefin recyclate is therefore increased, and (ii) the melt volume-flow rate (MVR) of the polyolefin recyclate is reduced to a specified MVR.

  • Patent number: 11794398
Abstract: A method for producing a blow molded plastic bottle starting from a preform comprises providing a preform with a specific wall thickness distribution and a blow mold are provided, the cavity of the mold having at least one channel at the locations of the plastic bottle that are to be strengthened. Subsequently, the preform is heated in such a way that the portion of the preform that correlates with the channel of the cavity is thinned to a lesser extent during the stretching and/or blow, and an accumulation of plastics material is brought about in the channel during the main blow molding operation. A plastic container produced by this process has strengthening elements formed as at least one outwardly protruding bead of material and have a wall thickness that is at least 30%, greater than the wall thickness of a portion of the wall adjacent to the bead of material.

  • Patent number: 11708473
Abstract: The invention relates to a method in which a polyester melt containing one or more polyesters is produced, the polyester melt being foamed by a blowing agent and a foamed granulate is produced from the foamed polyester melt. The intrinsic viscosity (IV) of the polyester melt is reduced by the blowing agent about at least 0.05 dl/g, measured according to ASTM D4603, and the IV of the foamed granulate is then increased by means of a solid phase polycondensation (SSP).
