  • Patent number: 10917162
Abstract: Phase or amplitude compensation for beam-former Apparatus for an antenna with a plurality of antenna elements, the antenna providing a radiation pattern including one or more beams and the apparatus comprising: a digital beam-former for digitally weighting component signals corresponding to the one or more beams with respective beam-forming weights to provide each component signals of a beam with a phase relationship and amplitude relationship to other component signals of the same beam; and a processing arrangement for processing signal for the beam-former or for processing signals received from the beam-former; the apparatus further comprising compensation means for compensating for at least one out of phase and amplitude distortions between component signals associated with the same frequency channel and related to the same beam arising in the processing arrangement.

  • Patent number: 10594483
Abstract: Data processing circuitry has a virtual data buffer, with contiguous virtual addresses of the virtual buffer being associated with discontiguous addresses of a physical memory. Cyphering circuitry coupled between the data processing circuitry and the physical memory responds to a command received from the data processing circuitry by determining a key associated with the command based on virtual buffer address information associated with the virtual buffer.

  • Patent number: 8146095
Abstract: Provided are method, apparatus and computer program product for managing persistence in a messaging network. A determination of whether to save data relating to a message-based communication to persistent storage at a message server is made with reference to characteristics of at least one messaging client involved in the message-based communication. The characteristics may include, for example, connection reliability information for the client's previous connections to the message server, such as numbers of disconnections within a defined period or average connection duration, for a messaging client to which at least one message is to be transmitted by the message server. The characteristics may represent a number of matching subscribers per publication. These and/or other example characteristics may be captured in a database at the message server and may be evaluated (for example by SQL queries applied to the database) to determine whether a persistent save operation is required or can be omitted.

  • Patent number: 7644192
Abstract: In order to investigate the behavior of a data storage system, the time differences between commands from an analysis device and the completion of the operations defined by those commands are analyzed. The method may use a factorial parameter table definition representing common threads of I/O events in a patterned, cyclic nature, using a host computer as the host application emulator and data logger. The workload definition is provided either from hypothetical proposed thread parameters, or by statistical and common factorial analysis of real application I/O traffic analysis, or a combination of both. The generated workloads can be run while measuring the I/O event completion timings and event queuing characteristics, facilitating engineering interpretation of results for the purpose of analyzing the effects of workload and system architectural design factors, and optimization or evaluation of total system configurations.

  • Publication number: 20050256214
Abstract: Poly (p-pheneylene 2-6 benzobisoxazole) (PBO) compositions that can be used as resins, used as adhesives or adhesive components, used to form films and laminates and used to form foamed articles. The PBO compositions demonstrate high heat resistance, chemical stability, low flammability and low toxic fume generation. Foams can be produced from the PBO compositions that have a range of open and closed cellular structures. The PBO foams have specific densities of from at least about 0.25 lbs/ft3 to at least 50 lbs/ft3.

  • Publication number: 20030208691
Abstract: A “secure pick-up” process is described, allowing secure print jobs to be sent across a network (100). A security key (300) is inserted into an initiating camera (102), allowing information (110) to be transferred from the camera (102) to a printer (104). However, the printer (104) is not permitted to output printed pages until the security key (300) is equivalently inserted into the printer (104). Such provides the initiating party with the assurance that the print job will not be output by the printer (104) until the print initiator (ie. the user) goes to the printer (104) and physically inserts the security key (300).
