  • Patent number: 10734256
Abstract: A heater system is provided that includes a base functional layer having at least one functional zone. A substrate is secured to the functional member, and a tuning layer is secured to the substrate opposite the base functional layer. The tuning layer includes a plurality of zones that is greater in number than the zones of the base functional layer, and the tuning layer provides lower power than the base functional layer. A component is secured to the tuning layer opposite the substrate, and the substrate defines a thermal conductivity to absorb and dissipate a requisite amount of power from the base functional layer. A control system is also provided that has a plurality of addressable control elements in electrical communication with power lines and with the tuning layer, the control elements providing selective control of the tuning layer zones.

  • Patent number: 10721286
Abstract: A local delivery service (LDS) operates in an enterprise computer network as a proxy for a communications server (CS) computer operating in a cloud computing environment. The LDS pulls a queue repository maintained by the CS and retrieves an output item flagged by the CS for local delivery. The output item has a document and associated configuration information specifying an application domain in the cloud computing environment and delivery settings specific to the application domain maintained by the CS. The LDS translates the delivery settings and routes the document to the connectors of communications channels of the enterprise computer network. In this way, documents produced by the CS in the cloud can be delivered locally to disparate destinations on the enterprise computer network without having to open individual ports in a firewall of the enterprise computer network to connect the CS with communications channels of the enterprise computer network.

  • Publication number: 20200228549
Abstract: A system can monitor the server for indications of an attack and adjusts server settings accordingly. In response, the system can increase server tolerance in a systematic way to deal with DDoS by adjusting server settings appropriately. Conversely, when the server is not under attack, the settings can be adjusted to those for standard operations (e.g., adjusted downward), as they are more optimal for normal, non-attack operations.

  • Publication number: 20200221255
Abstract: A user can submit a request to a server associated with an ATM. The request can be submitted from a device (or portable device) of the user. The server can evaluate the request and designate which ATM or ATMs are best suited to process the request. This determination can be based on availability of resources on the ATM. Subsequently, the server can transmit a communication to the device of the user and the designated ATM. The communication can cause both the device and the ATM to emit a sound or display a visual cue to guide the user to approach the designated ATM. The device and the ATM can emit various patterns of sound to better guide the user to approach the designated ATM.

  • Publication number: 20200180309
Abstract: There is provided a charge electrode for charging ink droplets for continuous ink jet printing. The charge electrode has a generally cylindrical main body defining a generally cylindrical passage for the ink droplets, said passage extending along a travel axis that represents, in use, the position of an ink jet in ingress to the electrode and a direction of travel of the ink droplets once these have detached from the ink jet. The charge electrode comprises two distinct axially disposed regions: a first region for charging the droplets as required; and, a second region for screening the charged droplets from any electric fields which could undesirably affect the trajectory of the ink jet and/or the droplets. The second region may fully surround at least a portion of the travel axis. The invention therefore provides improved screening for the ink jet and/or the droplets. This may in turn enable better control of the charge applied to the charged droplets, and/or of their travel trajectory.
