In another form, the shelving system includes a base, vertical members attached to the base, and a retrofitting shelf attached to the vertical members. In yet another form, the method for displaying items on a shelving system includes attaching a retrofitting shelf to the shelving system and placing items on the supporting unit of the retrofitting shelf.
