  • Patent number: 4926267
Abstract: A method and system for reproducing halftone originals utilizing threshold gray level values of the scanned pixels of the halftone original to determine adjacent pairs of pixels bordering the edges of the halftone dots. Edge errors for the adjacent pairs of pixels are determined using the scanned gray level values and a threshold value. A processing window defines sub-arrays of pixels whose thresholded gray level values are processed based on the edge errors. For each sub-array, the edge errors of the adjacent pairs of pixels are summed. The thresholded values of the adjacent pairs of pixels are then selectively changed in the order of pixel pairs of descending edge error until the number of values changed equals the closest integer to the summed edge error.

  • Patent number: 4465946
Abstract: A frame assembly for an electric motor stator is described. The frame includes at least three arcuate units for encircling a wound core of an electric motor stator. The assembly further includes a means for interlockingly engaging the arcuate units so that the units may be maintained about the stator prior to welding. The interlocking means extends from at least one end of each arcuate unit. The interlocking means may include an overlapping portion extending arcuately outward from one end of an arcuate unit and an underlapping portion similarly extending from an adjacent arcuate unit so that the overlapping and underlapping portions may interlockingly engage with one another during assembly.

  • Patent number: 3993193
Abstract: A document sorting system employing a plurality of elongated flexible strips which form document transport channels therebetween and which terminate at a plurality of sorting areas. A magnetic apparatus is provided for selectively deflecting the ends of the flexible strips to form an appropriate channel entrance for the document to be sorted. A coil member is attached to the said end of each flexible strip and current is sent through the coil of the coil members. The coil members are disposed for movement on a piece of the magnetic apparatus and current through the coils of the coil members cooperate with the magnetic field produced by the magnetic apparatus to selectively deflect the coil members and the ends of the flexible strips. The coils of the coil members are connected in a circuit which determines the direction of the current flow in each of the coils.
