Publication number: 20240127141Abstract: Techniques for managing task assignments to workers in a work environment are disclosed. A system identifies one or more workers with qualifications that match recommended qualifications to perform a task in a work environment. The system applies a trained machine learning model to task performance data associated with the worker, such as a past history of tasks performed and statistics associated with the performance of the task. The machine learning model generates a prediction of downstream effects associated with assigning the task to the user. The downstream effects include delays and performance improvements on subsequent tasks performed by the worker, as well as effects on tasks performed by other workers, at work centers in the work environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Robert St. Pierre, Mark Pearson

Publication number: 20240127140Abstract: Techniques for implementing a qualification-based task management system in a work environment are disclosed. When a user logs in to a work center terminal, a system identifies a set of pending tasks that need to be completed. The system filters the tasks available to the user based on the user's qualifications and the equipment present at the work center. When the system identifies a task for which there is not a set of users with matching qualifications, the system applies a machine learning model to the task parameters to identify candidate users or recommended qualifications for performing the task.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Robert St. Pierre, Mark Pearson

Publication number: 20240127144Abstract: Techniques for generating recommendations for re-ordering scheduled tasks to improve completion times of one or more tasks are disclosed. A system displays a representation of a schedule for performing tasks among work centers in a work environment. The system identifies performance metrics associated with a current configuration of tasks in the work environment. The system further analyzes performance metrics for alternative task schedules in the work environment. The system displays interface elements to allow a user to re-order tasks among the work centers in the work environment. The system also displays predicted performance metrics associated with the alternative task schedules. When a user selects a particular interface element to implement an alternative task schedule, the system generates instructions to work centers to reorder tasks in the work environment.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Robert St. Pierre, Mark Pearson

Patent number: 8696199Abstract: A temperature sensor circuit and system providing accurate digital temperature readings using a local or remote temperature diode. In one set of embodiments a change in diode junction voltage (?VBE) proportional to the temperature of the diode is captured and provided to an analog to digital converter (ADC), which may perform required signal conditioning functions on ?VBE, and provide a digital output corresponding to the temperature of the diode. DC components of errors in the measured temperature that may result from EMI noise modulating the junction voltage (VBE) may be minimized through the use of a front-end sample-and-hold circuit coupled between the diode and the ADC, in combination with a shunt capacitor coupled across the diode junction. The sample-and-hold-circuit may sample VBE at a frequency that provides sufficient settling time for each VBE sample, and provide corresponding stable ?VBE samples to the ADC at the ADC operating frequency.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2008Date of Patent: April 15, 2014Assignee: Standard Microsystems CorporationInventors: Robert St. Pierre, Scott C. McLeod

Publication number: 20060193370Abstract: A temperature measurement device may be implemented by coupling a PN-junction, which may be comprised in a diode, to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that comprises an integrator. Different currents may be successively applied to the diode, resulting in different VBE values across the diode. The ?VBE values thus obtained may be successively integrated. Appropriate values for the different currents may be determined based on a set of mathematical equations, each equation relating the VBE value to the temperature of the diode, the current applied to the diode and parasitic series resistance associated with the diode. When the current sources with the appropriate values are sequentially applied to the diode and the resulting diode voltage differences are integrated by the integrator comprised in the ADC, the error in the temperature measurement caused by series resistance is canceled in the ADC, and an accurate temperature reading of the diode is obtained from the output of the ADC.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2005Publication date: August 31, 2006Inventors: Robert St. Pierre, Scott McLeod

Publication number: 20040015290Abstract: Embodiments of the present claimed invention utilize video imaging to analyze the availability of parking spaces. In one embodiment, a computer is used to process video images of a parking location to determine if a parking space is available. In another embodiment of the present claimed invention, the type of parking space is also considered. For example, the system can distinguish between a compact parking space and a full-size parking space and direct vehicles to the appropriate parking space. This distinction becomes important when the optimization of space for parking in a crowded area is desired. Additionally, wireless communication can be used to deliver information regarding vacant parking spaces to motorists. Furthermore, embodiments of the present invention incorporate a global positioning system (GPS) to provide location dependent parking availability to motorists. For example, a motorist can request the location of the closest available parking space by pressing a button inside the vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: SUN Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: David Curbow, Eric Macintosh, Robert St. Pierre, Stephen Uhler

Patent number: 6208196Abstract: Current mode charge pumps having improved power consumption characteristics and reduced peak current requirements. The current mode charge pumps utilize a differential transistor pair with a current source providing the tail current for the differential pair. The differential pair alternately steers the current of the current source through first and second fly capacitors, with additional circuitry coupling the opposite fly capacitor, previously charged, to the output of the charge pump. Selection of the tail current provides for matching of circuit performance with the required charge pump output voltage, the load current to be provided thereby and the start time requirements.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1999Date of Patent: March 27, 2001Assignees: Maxim Integrated Products, Inc., Gain Technology.CorporationInventor: Robert St. Pierre

Patent number: 6094035Abstract: A plurality of amplifying power converter circuits are provided each including a pair of switches being connected between two constant voltage sources and an output node common to each of the switches. Such output node is adapted for connection to a load. Also included is a modulator that serves for opening and closing one of the switches with a first duty cycle and opening and closing another one of the switches with a second duty cycle. The first duty cycle and the second duty cycle are at least partially "overlapped". During modulation, the power converter has a voltage gain at the output node that is greater than unity and exhibits improved distortion characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1999Date of Patent: July 25, 2000Assignee: Gain Technology CorporationInventors: Douglas L.
