  • Publication number: 20250214184
Abstract: The invention relates to a screwing apparatus for setting a screw. The screwing apparatus comprises a rotary drive for rotationally driving the screw, a feed drive for generating an axial feed force on the screw, and a shaft-hub unit comprising a drive shaft, which has a non-circular cross-section, and a hub rotationally fixedly connected to the drive shaft. The drive shaft and the hub serve to transmit a torque provided by the rotary drive. In this respect, the drive shaft and the hub are axially displaceable relative to one another within a first torque load range to allow an axial feed movement of the screw relative to the rotary drive. To reduce wear at the shaft-hub unit, a compensating coupling is provided that allows a joint axial movement of the shaft and the hub relative to the rotary drive when a torque load exceeds the first torque load range.

  • Publication number: 20250208587
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling an automatic screwdriving machine that comprises: a screwdriving unit for the automated screwing of a screw into a component; and a control unit for controlling the screwdriving unit based on a screwdriving program that is stored in the control unit and that defines the time development of a desired rotational speed at which the screw is to be driven during the screwdriving process and, optionally, also defines the time development of a feed force to be exerted on the screw during a screwdriving process, wherein, during a screwdriving process, the control unit records a data set that relates to the screwdriving process and that comprises the time developments of the following screwdriving parameters: an actual rotational speed of the screw, a torque exerted on the screw, a feed position of the screw and a feed speed of the screw.

  • Publication number: 20250073831
Abstract: The application relates to a braking unit for braking a processing element, said braking unit comprising a guide channel for the processing element, wherein the guide channel has a guide channel inlet and a guide channel outlet, wherein the guide channel has at least one curved section to apply a centrifugal force to the processing element to be braked that moves along the guide channel, said centrifugal force pressing the processing element against an outer curvature region of an inner peripheral surface of the curved section, and wherein the at least one curved section is configured to brake the processing element by friction between the inner peripheral surface of the guide channel and the processing element such that the processing element loses at least 50% of its kinetic energy between the guide channel inlet and the guide channel outlet.

  • Patent number: 10981213
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for setting a screw, in particular a flow drilling screw. In accordance with the method, the screw is driven at a first revolution speed and at a first axial feed force during a time-limited first phase to drive the screw through at least one component. In the event that the screw does not penetrate the component during the first phase, the screw is automatically driven at a second revolution speed that is higher than a first rotation speed and/or at a second axial feed force that is greater than a first axial feed force during a second phase subsequent to the first phase.
