  • Publication number: 20230149444
Abstract: Solutions comprising hypochlorous acid and methods of use are disclosed herein. The disclosed solutions are antiviral and antibacterial. The disclosed solutions may be used to treat and/or prevent a disease state or condition associated with or characterized by acute viral respiratory diseases, such as those caused by coronaviruses. The solutions may be administered by a nebulizer or a metered dose inhaler. The disclosed solutions may also be used to decontaminate surfaces. For example, the disclosed solutions may be used to decontaminate the surfaces of personal protective equipment, such as N95 face mask.

  • Publication number: 20220096728
Abstract: Provided herein is a wound drain useful in negative pressure wound treatment therapy. The wound drain advantageously includes structural components that prevent the drain from collapsing under negative pressure and from ingesting foreign materials introduced into a wound cavity, such as gauze and sponges, which con obstruct exudate flow through the drain. The wound drain may further comprise a dual lumen configuration such that it advantageously can be used in for positive pressure applications, or for combined negative and positive pressure treatments.

  • Publication number: 20180098935
Abstract: The wound treatment therapy deactivates pathogenic microorganisms within the wound environment without disrupting the cell walls. The wound treatment therapy of this invention combines the application of stabilized hypochlorous acid compound with the application of a hydrophobic wound dressing. The application of hypochlorous acid provides the initial anti-microbial agent, which disrupts and eradicates biofilm, as well as, deactivates the harmful pathogenic organisms within the wound environment. The application of the hydrophobic wound dressing, which is designed to bind harmful hydrophobic microorganisms and toxins, provides a mechanical vehicle for physically removing deactivated hydrophobic microorganisms form the wound environment with each dressing change.
